“not worth the price”
Reviewed 13 July 2013

I was greatly disappointed. The room was small and not at all plush. The bathroom was cute and clean. The two chairs were not at all comfortable and one was stained. The staff were excellent. but that is all that was. Everything was way over-priced for what you get.

Room Tip: Don't stay here.

I had my wedding reception at this Hotel and everyone absolutely loved the hotel. The staff and speicfically the wedding coordinator Cindy are amazing and so helpful. The wedding package was affordable and manageable and we stayed in the Presidential suite to get ready for the big day and after our reception. I took my bridal portraits there as well, and the photos are absolutely gorgeous!!

Such a great spot for your wedding reception and for a good night sleep!!

The hotel is good, located not far from Sundance Square (which, in my opinion, isn't much and, thus, is quite overrated). Our room was large and had good style. The Wi-Fi connection was very weak, but they provided a on-spot modem, which improved it dramatically. Our room wasn't dirty, but not new and overly-clean either.

Monte (Banquets) provided excellent, continuing service throughout 4 days of intensive Texas Tech University governmental accounting seminars. Other staff members who also were friendly and helpful included Cindy (Catering Manager), David (Valet), and Brandon (Front Desk). The building is an updated older property in the lively and safe Sundance Square district. The Ashton restaurant and restaurant service were excellent.

Room Tip: Request a quiet room away from the street. (The hotel is located on a corner, but the interior North...

Nice change from the large convention hotels downtown.
Very charming place and the staff is very nice.
Room was spacious and clean.
Now it is an old hotel, so if you are a hurried business man, might not be the place for you.
Room can be dark, the Internet is painfully slow and stayed that way for the two days we were there.
The Internet in the library was just as slow.
Resturant did not open one morning because the wait staff did not show up.
No plugs in the room, a power strip would be nice.
Despite the drawbacks, we will try again.

This hotel is on the historic registry so we hoped for a refined classic and were secretly afraid that our modern technology needs might not be met. NOT A PROBLEM, it was perfect and modern. The room was immaculate and quiet but the highlight for us was the food. We dined in the restaurant and also at a private party. The menu was interesting and sophisticated without being too frou-frou to actually enjoy. The quality was perfect and everything looked as wonderful as it tasted on our tongues. The staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. I think we'll plan a visit again and we'll come hungry! Great stay!

This hotel had a myriad of problems. It started with being given a room that had no desk. As I was there on business, I needed a desk in order to do my work. To their credit, they moved me to another room once it was cleaned. Even with a desk, these hotel rooms are not suitable for working. There was only one plug near the desk so I had to unplug lamps in order to charge several of my devices. The hotel had free wifi but it was so slow that it was unusable. I ended up using the hotspot on my phone which was much faster. The lighting was very dim even with all of the lights in the room turned on.

We ate in the restaurant twice. Both times (dinner and breakfast), there was only one person working the entire dining room so service was extremely slow. Water glasses were not refilled, drink and food orders took forever to come to the table and it was hard to get the check. We had to shovel down breakfast in order to get to our first meeting on time.

For business trips, this hotel was a failure. The one positive I can say about this hotel were the cookies left on your bed during turn-down service. They were great as was having turn-down service.
