This property is within an easy walking distance of Main Street. The house itself is very unique, cozy, and perfect for the four of us that stayed the weekend! The beds are also very comfortable, kitchen full of anything you might need for cooking, and the outdoor seating area is also really well done. Our host Jan was attentive and made us a very tasty casserole and zucchini bread loaf!
Pioneer Haus is nearby from the Pioneer Museum and within walking distance of Main Street. The Haus is charming while maintaining its historical character. Jan the owner left us a beautiful quiche which we enjoyed our first morning at the farmhouse style dining table. The rooms are small as houses from that time would be but with the tall ceilings it still feels spacious. The dining table seats 6-8 adults, more if some of those are children. The bedrooms were adorable, the beds are so comfortable and the bathrooms are beautifully done. All in all our stay was stress free. Thank you Jan for your hospitality.
The Pioneer Haus did not disappoint! Every room is immaculate with interesting decor. The beds were all comfy. The towels were plush. The breakfast quiche was delicious. The back area is gorgeous with seating for so many. We were only able to be there for a shorter time than booked so will have to come back.
Thank you Jan!
The Pioneer Haus is your home away from home! This rustic cabin home is beautiful, spacious and a place you would enjoy while visiting the area! 4 BR/ 2 Bath sleeps 4-8 people comfortably - 2king/ 2 queen Note: one bedroom opens to outside main dwelling, lock for privacy and security. Full kitchen and appliances. Great outdoor space for visiting and fire pit to roast s'mores. TV and web access.
Jan, owner, was the best hostess and quick to answer questions and solve situations as they arrive! Easy to contact and respond. A place well worth your consideration!!
My group's stay at the Pioneer Haus was one of the best parts of our trip. The house comfortably sleeps 8 adults (2 to each bedroom) and is in a great location-- walking distance from Main Street.
The house itself is charming and rustic and just fits the vibe of Fredericksburg and what we were looking for in our stay. Don't let the historical aspects of this house fool you, however. It is complete with modern appliances, AC, internet, etc.
The large and beautiful backyard was also a nice surprise for us! Not only is there a patio deck right outside 3 of the bedrooms, but there is also additional covered seating further back and a firepit (with materials needed to start the fire). Needless to say, we took full advantage of it.
When we arrived, a breakfast casserole, zucchini bread, orange juice, and water (and a fully stocked kitchen) was waiting for us. There is also an HEB nearby if groceries are needed.
10 out of 10, would recommend!
If you enjoy antiques and the pioneer flavor this house might be for you. It sleeps eight in comfortable beds. The owner was extremely gracious greeting us the first day with zucchini bread and a quiche. Later in the week she stopped by with a breakfast casserole. When we discovered we did not have enough silverware for eight people she went to the store and bought some.
The home is beautifully decorated but more attention needs to be paid to things such as door knobs, and a dining room to accommodate eight. A full inventory of the kitchen supplies needs to be made. There are no shelves for groceries. It appears it is set up for guests who eat out every day.
