“YUM!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 November 2013

We went there on a crowded Saturday morning, however didn't have to wait too long. There's a cute jewelry store next door, that entertained us while we waited. Once seated we were served promptly with a delicious spread of food!! French toast is fabulous, the german pancakes are thin and very similar to a crepe without filling. All was so tasty-and a good price. Much more food than we could possibly eat. They also have some tasty baked goods-the meringue cookes are different and good! Also the pecan cookie is worth a try. Overall-a great experience!!!

“Just average acceptable food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 November 2013

We visited this restaurant because of the reviews, I guess this is just for more like a breakfast place rather than lunch.
The food is just average and nothing extraordinary, service is fast and the place is clean. It's ok to try but not to visit every time you are in town.
Tip: get a table by the window so you can enjoy watching people passing by.

“Wow, this is the great food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2013

My first time to Fredericksburg. Lunch for three, please. We ordered the sauerbraten w/ german pan fries and red cabbage, bratwurst w/ sauerkraut & hot potato salad, hamburger on their jalapeño roll. All the food and sides were exceptionally good. The portion size was equal to two meals, w/ the exception of the burger. The attention to detail of the food preparation of extraordinary. This is how it should and can be done! The ambience is that of a local diner, but don't let that fool you, this is great food. We checked out their breakfast menu and there were many intriguing items. Can't wait to go back. The restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch.

Bon Appetit!

Only order 1 pancake! It covers the plate! The German potatoes were very good. I ordered crisp bacon-it came out perfect,

“Lots of food very noisy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 October 2013

Travel to Fredericksburg often and seem to always eat at the same place. This time we decided to try another restaurant. This place is not particularly inviting from the outside and is not very appealing on the inside but we noticed about 8 police officers inside and the place was busy. Daily menu of lunch specials on the wall but we noted the prices were the same as the menu so not so special. The four of us has a variety of meals from liver and onions, salads, to Rolade. All were generous portions and everyone enjoyed their meal. The price for lunch for each couple was under $25. Restaurant is very noisy conversation was difficult at best. Service was ok never got the check but the cashier took care of that. Doubt we will go back but if you like German food and plenty of it it is not bad.
