“Mini Family Vacation”

Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend stay in Cottage 29. From the welcome email and personal phone call, to the immaculate cottage, we were 100% happy. Our 3 year old granddaughter loved seeing all the "reindeer" on the property. We will definitely be returning for another visit.

We love this place, we visited originally in August 2007 and it was about half built out and it was already amazing then; they've added so much cool stuff since then. So glad we found this place. Its kind of in town, but far enough to feel like you are out in the woods. The rates are fair for what you get. Fireplaces are awesome; it was below freezing when we were there so the fire was great to have. Wildlife watching is excellent, they have lots of deer and elk on the property. There were 2 elk male elk fighting it out most of the first evening we were there in the field adjacent, it was pretty impressive. Amenities are good, glad they have added wifi. If you are shopping around for a cool rustic place to stay in Fredericksburg look no further.

Room Tip: book in advanced to get a standalone cottage, but the dog trot rooms are awesome too

My sister-in-law made the reservations here, and she was mainly looking for somewhere inexpensive. The rooms were small, and the place was clean. The breakfast was pretty much nonexistent. Parking was convenient to the rooms. Overall, it was a decent experience, and I would probably stay there again if we went to Fredericksburg.

My husband and I spent 2 nights, along with our mini-schnauzer, in cottage 21 at the beginning of this week. The management couldn't have been more helpful. I called to make sure about some instructions with making a fire in the fireplace that evening and while I was talking on the phone with the woman in the office, someone came by to check on us to help if we needed it. We had a delightful time especially because we could have our little doggie with us. Because he is under 15 pounds it cost only $15 more to have him join us. That certainly beats the cost of a kennel by far and he really enjoyed our walks around the property seeing the deer and elk. We have already recommended this place to family and we hope to stay here again on our next trip to Fredericksburg.

My husband, son and I stayed in cabin 10 this past weekend and what an awesome stay we had. From the late arrival check in to the Sunday morning check out. We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and the amenities the property had to offer. The hot tub was a hit in the freezing weather. Our cabin was spacious, clean and cozy. Loved the complete set up. Meet the owners, very pleasant people. Will return!

Room Tip: The higher the room number, the newer the cabin

We stayed in Cabin #26 this past weekend and absolutely fell in love with the place! We made the trip with friends and had a total of 3 cabins - we are already planning our next trip! The cabin was cozy and comfortable. We like the beds so much we purchased a mattress and brought it home with us. The new lodge is gorgeous. Our kids loved the fire pits and making smores outside.

My husband & I had stayed for 1st time this past summer. We stayed in Cottage # 5. Before we arrived back home, we had already made our reservations for Cottage # 21 for Thanksgiving. (#5 not available these were going quick). This was the best decision we made in a long while. Pure joy, pure pleasure, pure relaxation with that taste of rustic type living. Clean rooms, homey feel, courteous staff. Loved the decor. We visited with the owners in the newly opened Event Center & thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them while sipping on a glass of locally made wine. If looking for a Romantic get away while away with desire of getting away from city lights so you can gaze @ the stars & have all the privacy you want? This should be your # 1 pick. My highlight was the wildlife. Many photo opportunities both inside & out, morning, noon & night. I will add, I am grieving a recent loss of my mother, Perfect place for that also, enough to see & watch to keep your mind preoccupied, & if you want to start writing a new book or lyrics to a song; this is the place for all that too. I have run out of brochures & now giving the website to all my friends & coworkers, We definitely plan to return & hopefully will make it a new HOLIDAY TRADITION.
