We were really happy with the location of this place. It seems to be in the middle of nowhere but at the same time only 6 miles from town. Our main goal was to get away from any stresses and this place definitely accomplishes that. tFrom just sitting on the porch to getting up early and waiting for the sun to rise we would definitely recommend this to anybody looking for peace and quiet.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Retreat cabin and since this was our first time here all I can say is the cabin is...

Thank you for a lovely review! The Retreat cabin is one of our most requested cabins, and we have carefully planned each cabin... Maybe next time you should try the Little White House, one of our newest, with a jacuzzi tub and rain shower.... Though the showers are not two person in the Retreat and the other three original cabins, we made sure the shower heads provided massage and great water pressure, because your comfort is most important to us! Please consider visiting us again, and thank you for the positive review. We know you had many choices, and we appreciate that you chose us!

This was a perfect stop on our road trip. Our cabin was very charming with beautiful surroundings. We ordered the cowboy dinner and it is recommended.
When we went to Texas, we wanted to see Texas longhorn cattle. Becky showed us their livestock. We are grateful for that. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Mid-way through our 2 week road-trip in Texas my girlfriend and I descended upon Tonkawaya Ranch, with the intention of staying for 2 nights .

Having read the gushing reviews, we were excited to arrive and had high expectations.... however....

these expectations were hugely exceeded. We quickly came to the decision to lobby Joe and Becky for 2 additional nights, which thankfully they could accommodate.

It's hidden away, clean, comfortable, individual, and it's oh so charming. Joe and Becky have made a statement in quality hospitality that's extremely hard to find.

We're back to our Ranch in London now, so thanks for a great break guys... we may well be dropping by again some day!

Take Care,
Hannah and Richard

My fiancé and I spent a week on the Ranch. There was not one bad thing about it! From the moment we arrived until the morning we left was awesome. We stayed in the Cowboy cabin, which is very nice. Everything you need, if you want to cook inside, or you can grill outside. Or go into town, 10 minute drive, and eat. The best part.. Becky makes the best breakfasts every morning AND you don't even have to get out of bed to go eat! They (Joe and the dogs usually) bring it to you! At night Joe would build a fire in the pit just across from the cabins.
Both Joe and Becky are very nice and have a beautiful place to stay at!
Nothing like staying in a hotel or motel, way more friendly and welcoming!
Thank you soooo much! I would recommend anyone to stay there!

We had a free night this week and jumped at the chance to stay here. We were not disappointed! This will be our base of operations for future trips to the area. Comfortable accommodations and beautiful surroundings. Wish I could have just one more delicious biscuit!

We stayed here on the recommendation of a friend and we found it to be well worth it. The location is remote in that you will be able to enjoy bright stars at night and no city noise but still very within reach of Fredericksburg.
Breakfast is brought to your your doorstep by one of the owners which was always delicious and they're very friendly and accommodating to your needs.
We will definitely be going back and staying another weekend!
