“A great place to unwind!”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

Me and my wife decided to take a vacation with-out our 9 year old daughter we first went to Galveston for 4 days then drove here, hands down we should've stayed here all week we even added an extra night. The peaceful serenity is so awesome to actually see the stars on your front porch at night. Yes we got in the horse trough ( aka Hot Tub) The bed was very comfortable too!
Your only a short distance from Fredricksburg, Wine country, and Luckenbach we spent up to early afternoon sightseeing then came back in the evening to the cabin for peace and quiet there are deer just look for em early evening about dusk. Oh things close early like after 9pm so eat dinner early in Fredricksburg! We only had breakfast once since our stay was over Mon and Tues the cook was off those day's but it was exellent would've enjoyed some more! But we'll be back hopefully sometime soon!

While trying to throw together last minute weekend escape to Fredericksburg for my fiance's 50th birthday, I couldn't find a b&b vacancy that wasn't ridiculously expensive - stumbled onto this alternative lodging option that sounded really cool - it sounded & looked great online so we reserved the lLittle White House for a midJune weekend - we were so charmed & impressed w/ the cabin, the entire property, and the couple who own & operate it. They were very warm & welcoming, great breakfasts, very creatively decorated & designed cabins & common areas - neither of us had ever seen such well- designed, charming, clean cabins & cowboy pool /grill/ common area . Loved the deer romping through the field in front of our cabin in the morning! They were having a blast - we loved it - can't say enough good things (kinda wished they had cable or wifi, but honestly wasn't a biggie)

Room Tip: All are charming, but the Little White House & the other larger one ( Wrangler?) are extra speci...

Wow. I don't read these reviews often, and happened on this today. I can't even thank you enough for such a wonderful review!!! And BTW, effective in July we do have internet and Direct TV! That aside, Joe and I love sharing our property with others. People like YOU are the reason this is so rewarding to us. Thank you for the review, and more than that, we are so glad you appreciated our piece of paradise in the Hill Country. We are continually planning ways to improve the cabins and the experience here. With so many choices, we are grateful you chose us!

We were really happy with the location of this place. It seems to be in the middle of nowhere but at the same time only 6 miles from town. Our main goal was to get away from any stresses and this place definitely accomplishes that. tFrom just sitting on the porch to getting up early and waiting for the sun to rise we would definitely recommend this to anybody looking for peace and quiet.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Retreat cabin and since this was our first time here all I can say is the cabin is...

Thank you for a lovely review! The Retreat cabin is one of our most requested cabins, and we have carefully planned each cabin... Maybe next time you should try the Little White House, one of our newest, with a jacuzzi tub and rain shower.... Though the showers are not two person in the Retreat and the other three original cabins, we made sure the shower heads provided massage and great water pressure, because your comfort is most important to us! Please consider visiting us again, and thank you for the positive review. We know you had many choices, and we appreciate that you chose us!

This was a perfect stop on our road trip. Our cabin was very charming with beautiful surroundings. We ordered the cowboy dinner and it is recommended.
When we went to Texas, we wanted to see Texas longhorn cattle. Becky showed us their livestock. We are grateful for that. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Mid-way through our 2 week road-trip in Texas my girlfriend and I descended upon Tonkawaya Ranch, with the intention of staying for 2 nights .

Having read the gushing reviews, we were excited to arrive and had high expectations.... however....

these expectations were hugely exceeded. We quickly came to the decision to lobby Joe and Becky for 2 additional nights, which thankfully they could accommodate.

It's hidden away, clean, comfortable, individual, and it's oh so charming. Joe and Becky have made a statement in quality hospitality that's extremely hard to find.

We're back to our Ranch in London now, so thanks for a great break guys... we may well be dropping by again some day!

Take Care,
Hannah and Richard

My fiancé and I spent a week on the Ranch. There was not one bad thing about it! From the moment we arrived until the morning we left was awesome. We stayed in the Cowboy cabin, which is very nice. Everything you need, if you want to cook inside, or you can grill outside. Or go into town, 10 minute drive, and eat. The best part.. Becky makes the best breakfasts every morning AND you don't even have to get out of bed to go eat! They (Joe and the dogs usually) bring it to you! At night Joe would build a fire in the pit just across from the cabins.
Both Joe and Becky are very nice and have a beautiful place to stay at!
Nothing like staying in a hotel or motel, way more friendly and welcoming!
Thank you soooo much! I would recommend anyone to stay there!
