We absolutely loved the setting. It is very close to town but it is located where you think you are out in the country. The cabins are fantastic and the breakfast is the best we have ever had at a B&B. You can sit on your porch and drink the local wines and just enjoy!! We plan on going back.

If you go to Fredericksburg, you have to stay at Tonkawaya Ranch B&B! It is by far the best B&B we have visited...and we have visited many. We were celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary and were assigned to the "Honeymoon" cabin. When we arrived, we could tell we were in for a great weekend. The property is beautiful and has lots of wildlife. We saw a tremendous number of deer, longhorn cattle, and wild turkeys. When you enter your individual cabin, you will find all of the amenities of a luxury hotel. Comfortable bed, exquisite linens and towels, private bath, porch with rocking chairs, a view that is undescribable, a scrumptious breakfast delivered to your door each morning, camp fire at night, and the best hosts you could ever imagine! We highly recommend Tonkawaya Ranch to all of our friends and family. The owners and hosts, Becky and Joe, go out of their way to make everyone feel like family. We recommend the "Hill Country Sunset Package" . You will not be disappointed. The view from the top of the hill is breathtaking! And to go along with the view, we were treated to a fabulous bottle of wine and snacks. We also recommend the "Cowboy BBQ". All of the fixins' for a real cowboy BBQ are delivered to your cabin and the pit and picnic table are available for a private dinner. It was fabulous! Becky thought of everything right down to the checkered table cloth and chef's apron! The B&B is located about 6 - 7 miles from town, so you get the best of both worlds. We can't wait to go back to Tonkawaya Ranch. It can't be soon enough for us!

My husband and I wanted to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary in Fredericksburg because of all the wonderful, romantic things we had heard about the city. I found Tonkawaya Ranch B&B through tripadvisor and loved all of the reviews and pictures! We wanted to get away from the city and enjoy a simple, relaxing weekend at a B&B. Tonkawaya was even better than we imagined! We stayed in the cowboy cabin and upon our arrival, we were so happy we chose Tonkawaya. There are 4 separate cabins, it's like having your own little home for the stay. Everything you need is available inside your cabin. The cabin was so cozy and romantic! All of the furnishings are beautiful and really make you feel like you are in another time/place. We loved having the little sitting area for two in our room where we played cards and listened to the radio while it was raining. One of our favorite parts was waking up every morning and drinking coffee while sitting in the rocking chairs, reading a good book, looking out through the pasture, and watching the animals. Just being with one another in a beautiful setting was the best anniversary I could think of. Our hosts were so kind and the breakfast was amazing! Very filling and delicious! Any questions we had, they had answers to and great suggestions for areas to visit/restaurants to dine. There were movies in the room to watch (which came in handy since it rained all weekend) and an awesome list of local wineries and details of the area (we were so grateful for) which we planned most of our trips with. We went on a winery tour, visited the Fredericksburg brewery, did some shopping, ate some delicious local food, and visited enchanted rock (what a hike!). I would highly recommend these cabins to anyone who wants to visit Fredericksburg or have a weekend getaway. Would definitely return for future visits!

Thank you so much for such a thorough and lovely review. I particularly appreciate the photos, as those that we have posted on our website are rather modest... I remember well the monsoons this fall, and I am so glad that you were able to enjoy staying inside the cabins and weren't disappointed for your First Anniversary! I appreciate the breakfast compliment too...as everything is freshly prepared. Come again, and hopefully you will be able to enjoy the great outdoors the Texas Hill Country has to offer!

Becky and Joe were so friendly and warm. We had a litle family reunion coming from Sydney, Australia, Singapore and Houston, TX and really enjoyed the visit. Becky helped us planning activities. The bonfire every night was great, we really enjoyed watching the stars. A great place, will definitely come back and recommend to others.

Thank you for posting the photos taken during your visit. One of the most gratifying things as your hosts is to provide you with a destination for a memorable vacation. We strive to create a peaceful getaway for our guests, and balance it with personal attention when you desire it. It was a pleasure to host your family reunion and you too have left us with good memories of your visit to our ranch.

We recently stayed at he Tonkawaya Ranch this past Oct. Each cabin is beautifully decorated with a warm South Western flair and contains everything required for an outstanding vacation. The owners, Becky & Joe have clearly put much thought and care into this property as every guests' need and desire has been carefully supplied.
They have provided on-site laundry facilities complete with laundry detergent, dryer sheets and iron. The cabins themselves are fully stocked with absolutely everything you could possibly require during your stay.
Upon our arrival, Becky greeted us warmly carrying a fresh bouquet of flowers for our cabin. What true southern hospitality!
Each weekend Becky delighted us with a delicious hot homemade breakfast. We always knew that Becky and Joe were just a phone call away should any need arise.
Most evenings Joe would build a lovely fire out in the corral for us to enjoy and several times Becky and Joe would join us around the fire to discuss what we had done that day or offer suggestions on things to do or places to go.
When we weren't enjoying a fire, we were most often on the porch of our cabin, rocking in our rocking chairs while we soaked up the heaven that is Texas Hill Country.
In the mornings, deer fed outside our window and in the afternoon we watched the Longhorn cattle graze as we read & rocked. The peacefulness of this place is unsurpassed. I don't believe we have ever had a more relaxing vacation in a more tranquil setting than those we experienced at Tonkaway Ranch. In fact, we cancelled our next 4 days reservation elsewhere to extend our time there.
Becky and Joe truly have a rare gift of making each guest feel like family. Thank you both so much for sharing your little piece of heaven with us.
