We just happened to be in Fredericksburg this Thursday and were able to visit and enjoy the Fredericksburg Farmer's Market. This Farmer's market is not tourist infested and is a real local experience. I can't completely describe the variety of tastes, smells, and sounds that accompany this experience. We started with shrimp tacos, then moved on to fresh baked bread, baked pizza with natural farm grown tomatoes cooked in an fired oven outside there at the market. We enjoyed home-made peach ice cream that a man bought for the entire family because my youngest son helped him pick up peaches that had fallen out of his bag. What a tremndous example of kindness and generosity. Most of the people at the market were locals and very friendly. I was most impressed with the overall sense of belonging and community that we felt at this Farmer's Market in Fredericksburg. We will definitely visit it again and again!
