“Couldn't have been better”
Reviewed 12 March 2014

We booked a half-day trip for Valentine's Day Weekend and it kicked off an awesome first time visit to Fredericksburg. We traveled with a small group and our guide kicked things off by asking what we preferred to try first on our tour, then told a joke that set the tone for the rest of a very fun afternoon. Our driver/guide, Paul, kept everyone entertained and took us to vineyards, and one bonus stop, that were welcoming AND had staff that obviously loved what they do. If you haven't been to Fredericksburg, TX and are close enough to drive, go as soon as you can and book a trip with Texas Wine Tours!!

“A great time and our tour guide really made sure we had a good time.”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

My wife and I went on our first Texas Wine Tour. There were a total of six folks in our coach and we did the half day tour. Our guide, Hugh, did a fantastic job listening to what we wanted to do and did everything in his power to make sure we had a good time. He was very knowledgeable about the area and the wineries. We had a great time and loved it.

Thank you Hugh!

“Relaxing”
Reviewed 9 March 2014

My husband purchased 3 full day tours for my birthday and my girlfriends met me in Fredericksburg for a girls weekend. Paul, our driver, called two days before the tour to introduce himself, inquire on our personal wine tastes and inform me of the itinerary for our day. The morning of the tour he was punctual and made us all feel at ease. He managed to keep the tour flowing on time without feeling rushed and he always carried our purchases to the bus. The limo bus was nice and clean with large windows to allow for a panoramic view of the hill country. The wineries and tasting rooms were all different with their own unique flair. We heard more than once from different sommelier's that we had chosen a premier tour company and were very complimentary of Paul. I'm hoping to have the privilege to attend another tour with Texas Wine Tours. We might even try the mixed drinks tour next time where they'll take you to wineries, whiskey tastings and a bourbon distillery.

“Best time ever!!”
Reviewed 5 March 2014

Although my husband is a native of Texas, we had never visited Fredericksburg before, so wanted to get the full experience. Since there are so many wineries and they are spread out across the area, we decided to follow our friends advice to use Texas Wine Tours. I am so glad we did! Not only did our guide tailor the tour to our tastes, but he added so much interesting commentary along the way. Ask for Paul if you go. We didn't worry about driving after tastings and think the plan was a good value since it included the tasting fees at the wineries we visited. I would definitely do this again

“Worry-free tour!”
Reviewed 3 March 2014

The day started out a bit "rocky" literally...the bus we were in had been involved in some type of collision and the steering was a bit touchy. Waiting on parts for repair, the bus had been put back into service. We all thought that we were in for a day of motion sickness. Also, the A/C on the bus was slow to cool us down. I felt bad for our guide, Jerry, when we first started going due to the mechanical issues he was having to deal with. Nonetheless, we quickly forgot about the issues as Jerry captured our attention with his knowledge of the area and personality.

The tour to the 5 wineries showed a glimpse of the diversity in scale and operations that different wineries have to offer in the area. We went to tastings at Becker, 4.0, Grape Creek, Hilmy, and Torre di Pietra. All were great although some stood at as favorites.

The lunch break back in town at Rathskeller was a good break and good food. We went back for breakfast the following day because it was so good.

We will request Jerry as our tour guide when we go again!

Overall, an excellent experience despite the initial stumbles with the tour bus! We all highly recommend it.

Just to calm everyone's fears, the bus had not been in an accident. The passengers were never in any danger. We had this vehicle checked several times and it was deemed safe. The maintenance issue was being handled appropriately.

I spoke with Jerry who told me he would never jeopardize his passengers safety. (we knew this already without asking him) Also, it was a misunderstanding that this vehicle had been in a collision. Texas Wine Tours always goes above and beyond what would be considered routine with our vehicle care and inspections of every safety issue.

We loved the best part mentioning that Jerry captured everyone's attention with his knowledge of the area and his personality! That's why all of his tours love him.

Please mention your tour and review when you come back, we will be sure you have a wonderful day and will request Jerry for you again.
