My husband and I were in San Antonio for a family celebration and were so pleasantly rewarded with, not only a terrific family get together, but warm, delightful accommodations. We chose stay in Fredericksburg to incorporate a bit of sight seeing in with our visit. Fredericksburg is a most charming town and Der Stall captured the flavor of the town perfectly. Set on the outskirts of town it even comes equipped with browsing animals in the morning to add to the "little German barn" ambiance. Inside the B&B all of the amenities were plentiful and even though we did not use the loft, we were thrilled with the hot tub in our room on the main floor. My diet did not like the breakfast brought to us, but I did love it!!! The innkeeper is an amazing cook, providing not only German delights but the recipes to bring home to try to duplicate. I would highly recommend Der Stall if you are in the Fredericksburg area for a visit and, if you do go, make sure you thoroughly look through and appreciate all the authentic German memorabilia that decorates the rooms. Much time and effort was put forth by the innkeeper and it shows!!!
