The rooms are great, the staff is great and the old style diner next door is pretty good too! We even enjoyed a nice evening in the Officer's Club with other veterans on Pearl Harbor Day and the piano being played in the background. We've been here before and we'll definitely return again.

On a last minute trip we reserved a room just hours before our arrival at the hotel. Since the Hangar Hotel was listed as #1 in Fredericksburg by Trip Advisor we had no apprehensions in deciding to stay there. We arrived around 8 pm and found our room to be very nice. The windows of our room overlooked the building next door which contained the hotel diner and a banquet facility. There was a party in the banquet room and the music was blasting. I called the front desk to ask if we could move to the other side of the hotel. I was told we "got the last room". She said the party was a wedding and the hotel was sold out with wedding guests. I asked how long the music would last and was told "probably until midnight". I sighed and asked if they had any ear plugs at the front desk and was told "uh....no" (like that was the craziest request she'd ever received). I asked if we could leave since the conditions were unsatisfactory. She said "you can leave but you won't get a refund" even though we had only been in the room 10 minutes. Since we aren't confrontational people we didn't relish fighting a room charge, and it was late, so we decided to tough it out. An hour later, despite the heater fan and TV being on, the music got even louder. I could see thru our window that the doors to the party room were open so I called back to the front desk requesting that they have the door to the facility closed to help block the noise and to ask the DJ to turn down the volume. The banquet door was eventually closed but the sound was still seeping into our room. Thankfully the music stopped well before midnight but then we had to put up with loud party-goers visiting each other in the hallway and going from room to room. The hotel probably doesn't have a loud wedding every weekend but be aware the hotel is not very soundproof! You will hear the the showers running in the rooms on either side and above you. You will hear the people in the room next door talking and other things. You will hear every door in the hallway when it closes...not just the ones adjacent.

I don't think the hotel controls the banquet facility nor can they control the revelry of other guests having a good time but I was completely dismayed that I had to come up with solutions to the problem so that we could get a good night's sleep for our $180 (+tax). I felt like the woman at the front desk didn't understand the basics of hotel customer service since she showed no concern or sensitivity. In any business, if a customer had a legitimate complaint over a product or service and had to call more than once for a solution the employees should be trained to be more proactive in solving the issue or at the very least making an appearance of compassion. A little concern or compensation will go a long way. We thought it telling that when we turned in our keys the next morning we were not asked how we enjoyed our stay...the only question was "do you want to keep the room charge on the MasterCard?"

Diner staff was preoccupied with visiting with one particular table. After sitting 35-minutes after ordering we left. People that came in after we did were served. Wait staff made no attempt to keep us informed or apologize for the long delay. Felt like it was a total lack of concern and focus on customers.

Such a great escape from the chain hotels! This personal, clean, adult oriented hotel was a step back in time for my father, a WW II Navy vet. The Museum of the Pacific was an incredible experience and staying at the hotel was like staying at a private club with its beautiful diner with great service and food, the Officer's Club where the bartender runs the place like it is her living room and the service was so fun we ordered a pizza delivered there one night and played chess in front of the fireplace. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed and have wonderfully comfortable chairs for reading. Coffee is available all day, and a breakfast of scones and fruit awaited guests if you were hungry before the diner opened -- the warm chocolate chip cookies were such a treat. This hotel is quiet and we so enjoyed a place that catered to adults.

This was a great, fun, and entertaining place. As many times as I have visited fredericksburg I never knew of this place. The piano bar was excellent. Stayed way too long, enjoyed way too much, and will definitely go back.

When I booked this hotel I thought it would be fun and different. My father-in-law was an aviator in WW11 so I thought my husband would like this hotel. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is decorated in the 1940s/1950s style even the music in the lobby is from the 40s. The dinner is a step back in time, bring your poodle skirt. When we first arrived it was quiet but later in the day there were 9 private planes parked like cars on the runway. The rooms and bathrooms are large and everything is well taken care of. The hotel is located 2 miles from town but it's an easy drive. Everyone was very nice, friendly, and helpful. The only negative was the bartender. Some one should remind her that tips really depend on good service and a smile. I would definitely stay here again.

We chose this hotel for our one night in Fredricksburg because it looked like a really unique place. From the moment we walked in and heard the old 40s music and saw the old travel memorabilia, we were impressed. The room was beautifully furnished and the bathroom was spacious. The observation deck would have been a great place to hang out had the weather been a little better. Because we were there on a Sunday night, neither the Officers' Club nor the Diner were open so we didn't get to experience either. The continental breakfast was good.............my husband loved the cranberry scones. The only thing that would have made this property better would be to have refrigerators in the rooms. We need to travel with certain foods, so it was just a little bit of a pain to have to keep everything in the cooler iced down.
