My daughters and i stayed at this hotel during a texas roadtrip. We booked this hotel site unseen and were pleasantly surprised! The front desk clerk was very accommodating when i requested a lower floor room because i didn't want to have to lug my very heavy suitcase up to the second floor. He was also very understanding when my daughter left our room keys inside while we were at the pool. This hotel property is huge and conveniently located to the main strip of quaint Fredericksburg. it is only half a block away from Main St! Although there is no restaurant in the hotel, it is so easy to walk to many nice restaurants or fast food places. This hotel is more like a two story motel . There are 2 large pools which were very well maintained and a huge hot tub. The one pool had a slide that my girls enjoyed. There is plenty of outside seating around the pool and around the beautifully landscaped property. Our room was a standard room with 2 fairly comfortable queen size beds. The room was large and clean. I was happy to have a room on the inside of the property with easy access to the pool. It was also a very quiet room. The only disappointing part of my stay was the outdated plumbing in the shower and the very flimsy shower curtain rod in the bathroom. But the room was large, comfortable, clean and quiet. Free breakfast is included with your stay and it was very satisfying. Coffee, soda and juices are complimentary 24/7. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. In summary, we did not want to leave. We really wish we had more time to enjoy more than just one night here and we will certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: Request a room facing the pool and as far away from the street if you want a quiet room. also reque...

We stayed at this hotel in April 2013 with our pet. The front lobby was renovated but after checking in we were directed to a room on the lower level. The room was disgusting in that it was old and not clean and clearly in need of rehab. The bedding was dirty and in poor repair as was the bathroom and its contents. We complained to the front desk but simply were told this was where pet owners stayed. We left the hotel after a few hours and drove home rather than complete our stay there. This was certainly the very worst hotel experience we have ever encountered, which is why I am taking the trouble to write this review.

Room Tip: stay at another hotel

On a whim we decided to take a weekend trip to Fredericksburg. We stayed here eight years ago in the off-season and enjoyed our stay. It is a half block walk to Main Street and very close to restaurants and shopping. You won't have to worry about finding parking for shopping.
The grounds have been improved since our last stay. It is very popular with people with very young children (who love a good pool) and I noticed quite a few middle-aged people and seniors hanging out and sipping wine and beer on the patio by the office in the evening. The free breakfast is popular too. Don't go too late or you'll miss out on some of the better food. They do replenish but you could have to wait if something ran out earlier.
Our room was very large but not the room we thought we had booked. We were told our room had a maintenance issue. We received a discount. However, the room we did get was on the corner by the office and by the patio. People tend to linger while going their separate ways and they can get loud. The kids at the pool can get loud too but usually not too late at night. In the morning the kids are up and energetic and running around. Bring earplugs if that bothers you.
The beds where comfortable enough. Both the sofa bed and our king-sized bed where good for a night's sleep.
The air conditioner had trouble cooling the room down our first night after being warm most of the day but the second day it was fine.
The refrigerator on the other hand was LOUD. I noticed it the minute I walked into the room. Once again, bring earplugs if that bothers you.
The bed linens were OK but the bath towels looked very worn and need to be replaced. Mine was very gray and dingy and scratchy.
Overall it was OK. It was clean and the day staff were friendly and helpful. We did have a problem with our reservation, the frig and lack of good plugs for electronics. The closeness to shopping, dining and good wine and beer were a plus for us.
Wineries can be reached by car or you can book a service if you don't want to drive.

Room Tip: By the pool you won't get the car noise but you will get pool noise in the summer. Room 101 is...

This hotel may be old, but it is comfortable, clean and the staff are most accommodating. The beautifully landscaped courtyard has two swimming pools, a water slide and hot tub. Rooms were comfortable and clean. We came to Fredericksburg to visit the national Museum of the Pacific. The museum and the town center are but a short walk from the hotel. Room rates are reasonable with free breakfast.
I left an article in the room...my fault, but the hotel found it and sent it back to me. I gave them a 5 plus for that.

Room Tip: I prefer the second floor of any hotel...this one no exception.

This is our second stay on this nice hotel. We don't understand the negative reactions. This room is all clean and comfortable. We booked a room with a double bed. At the front desk we met the by friendly Jim who checked us in. Our room has pool view. It's a very nice and clean pool. The kids had a lot of fun. The breakfast was good enough. We have had an great time and will come back whenever we are in this area. Fredericksburg is a nice place to visit.

Room Tip: Ask for pool view

We called to make reservations three weeks prior to our trip. We asked them for a king room on a ground floor because of mobility problems with climbing stairs and were told that wasn't available. Never did they even offer that a double queen room might be available on the bottom floor if we were willing to change room types. We filled out our reservation online and requested a ground floor room there, also. The third time we asked was at "check in"...my husband was told that "we are not able to accommodate everyone". The gentleman in the room next to us, had worse mobility issues than I did, but was stuck on the second floor. We were able to park in "Handicap Parking" a few times.
Our first thoughts when we entered the room was "where is the sofa?" We thought in the pictures, there was one shown. The room needed updating. We quickly learned that the pillows and bed were probably the worse that we have ever slept on.
The fan in the bathroom was really loud and sounded like it was on its last leg. The toilet sometimes took more than one push of the handle to make it flush.
Housekeeping got worse with each day. The day we arrived the bed was made, the next morning, the pillow bolster was left standing in the corner (should have been on the bed), the third day, the bolster still standing in the corner and the throw (that was on the bed when we arrived) was folded on the floor near it. The bed was lumpy as if the outer covers were just pulled up over sheets not smoothed out.
There were two large moths that had died in the middle of the floor and had been there two days of our stay, so we know the floors were not vacuumed. We used the same small bars of soap and bottle of shampoo, the whole 3 night stay. They were never replenished in case we did need another. There were a couple of water rings from cups and some sticky substance on a nightstand that was never cleaned since we before we checked in.
On Saturday evening, we returned early to the room. The internet service was not working. My husband called the desk and the attendant rebooted the system. It still did not work. He called back again and it was repeated. The third call was basically being told that maybe there was something wrong with our laptop, tablet and phones. Really?? All four things at once? He was given a phone number to call for support from the internet provider. He called, left info for them to call back....you guessed it...no call!!
The water pressure on Sunday morning was horrible. It took twice as long to take a shower.
The A/C struggled to keep the room cool. At 5:00 one morning, we woke up to a warm room. We lowered it to 69 degrees to get the room cool and it took about 20 minutes before it would come back on.
I can't say anything about the breakfast...didn't go there. Nor did we use the pool area.
Overall, this is not a place we would go back to.

When you travel with a band you often end up in low budget motels, motor inns, etc. and you're just happy to get a decent sleep at the property.
The Fredericksburg Inn & Suites was quite a nice surprise.
First let me say the the hotel buidling itself is older, in fact the small building where they serve their free continental breakfast was built around 1848! The rooms are spacious however one drawback (for me at least) is the bathrooms. They are rather small. The tub/shower is very good but you have about 3-4 feet of space between the edge of the tub and the toilet. Now they do have the vanity with a huge counter and a sink outside of the bathroom so it's at least got the separation which makes it bearable.
Here's the best part, the grounds.....WOW! That was my first reaction. The landscaping is awesome, there are two pools and one has a large jacuzzi that spills into the main pool so it's heated for those cooler nights when you want to swim.
They have a beautiful gazebo with very comfortable chairs, tables to set your drinks and satellite TV with the remote handy and availble for whomever gets there first.
So spacious rooms, beautiful grounds, very nice breakfast, microwave, mini-fridges and 24 hour beverages do compensate for the smaller bathroom by my standards.
I don't know what we paid, but I saw the rates listed and they were incredibly affordable, in the $100-$125 /night range and a block off of Main street where all the shops and restaurants are!
Now that's a bargain in my book.
However if you arethe type of traveler who must have 4.5 to 5 star hotel rooms then you might have to drive 90 minutes east to Austin to stay a night. For the rest of us who appreciate a very comfortable and affordable hotel with great amenities, the Fredericksburg Inn & Suites (on Baron Creek) is a great place to stay!
By the way, the staff are really friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Poolview was very nice.
