Owner description: Wildseed Farms is located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, just seven miles east of Fredericksburg, Texas. Come by and see us seven days a week, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Bring the camera and capture the ultimate in wildflower photographs! Spend as much time as you like at the farm's activities. We have 200 acres of wildflowers in various stages of development here on the farm. Springtime visitors will likely see Texas bluebonnets, red corn poppies, phlox, and a gorgeous array of other spring flowers. Summer visitors will enjoy cosmos, sunflowers, zinnias and other warm weather bloomers. In the fall, the fields are planted for the following year's color, but our Nursery is well stocked with a variety of choices for fall planting and colorful pumpkins adorn the grounds around The Shops at Wildseed Farms which are brimming with delightful gifts for home and garden. And don’t forget to browse our incredible selection of wildflower seeds as well as our seven regional mixes for anywhere in the U.S.

I don’t know if this is more of a store, a restaurant, or an attraction. It’s a great place to buy plants, with an unbelievable selection. But it’s also a great place to just walk around and enjoy the scenery. We were not there during wildflower season, but it was still beautiful

Worth driving a short distance into wine country to look at plants and their nice collection of things. Good respite from the heat too. Some nice little walking paths to enjoy the landscaping.

I'm giving this a poor rating because at a wildflower farm there should be wildflowers, right? We got nothing but plowed over fields. Maybe it was the wrong time of the year? Still, there should be something there.

I'm so sorry you were disappointed with your visit! Yes, it is an awkward time of year here on the Farm. Our spring bloom is either going to seed (the fields that look like dried plants), or just been harvested (the recently plowed fields), or newly planted and growing for our summer blooming flowers. The Butterfly gardens have some nice bloom going, and a few of the interior, smaller beds. Our crews have been hard at work harvesting and processing seed. Come again in the fall to see our Sunflowers!

We enjoyed our stroll through the butterfly gardens. Very peaceful. We went in the morning while it was cool and there were few people there. Most of the fields of wildflowers had already been harvested in May.
