We had a good time. The hotel was clean and conveniently located. The grounds were very nice with places to sit by the creek in the back. The breakfast was the usual hotel breakfast; with eggs, waffles, toast, biscuits and gravy, fruit, cereal and yogurt. The one girl at the front desk was not very helpful or knowledgeable and was usually cranky but other than that a very nice stay.

I expected more for the $364 we spent for 2 nights in a suite with 2 queen beds. The inn was beautiful and the room had been cleaned but it had a slight moldy smell. There were 3 of us sharing the room which was fine since it was large but we did use the pull out sofa. There were no sheeets, blankets, or pillows for it so we called the front desk. They were polite and happy to provide them but we had to go down and get them. My legs work just fine and I was perfectly able to go down and get them it is just that for what we paid I expected them to be brought to the room. The pull out sofa had a mattress that should have been thrown out. It sagged in the middle (I am about 135 lbs) and I could feel each and every spring. One of my friends reported that her bed was as hard as a rock. We went outside to sit by the creek and had to clean the furniture off before we could sit down. Again, I am perfectly capable of brushing off cushions as It was covered in debris from the trees, but this was not a $100 a night room. The furniture was very comfortable though and there were plenty of chairs on the property. The pool was clean and there were ample chairs for guests. Breakfast was not impressive. I understand that adding milk to eggs keeps them from drying out but when you add so much that the eggs are runny, it is simply gross. The bananas were all over ripe and there was no already cut up fruit/fruit salad that you normally see. They had slices of bread for toast but no bagels. There were also no kolaches or any other German baked items that I thought would be available since we were in the Hill Country. The waffles in the shape of Texas were a nice touch though and biscuits and gravy make most men happy. We did not mind the easy walk into town and the inn was quiet at night.

As my wife and I sipped wine from a local vinyard, less than 50 yards away was a doe and her fawn. Everything was perfect and within a block of shopping and the crawfish festival. We could see the creek from our window. Love this hotel and will visit again.

Room Tip: King suite with hot tub was great

We had a great time over Memorial Week end. We had a king jacuzzi suite. Just wish it was a bit closer to Main Street. We will stay here again. I believe we will stay in the rooms close to the creek next time also.

The room was well decorated and large with a hide-a-bed and would be great for families. The grounds on the creek provided a great place to relax. The room AC had to be turned down to 66 to keep the room at 72 degrees. (I have a thermometer on my clock.) Often hotels in the category have a thermometer on the wall instead of a window unit. The biggest problem for my husband was that the breakfast area was very warm. The breakfast menu was varied and kept warm on steam tables to even the eggs were not dried out as they often are at a hotel breakfast.
