Hotel Kitsmiller on Main

Decided to stay at Miller Inn to save money on lodging that I wanted to spend elsewhere. Was a bit concerned about the hotel, being an older hotel. We stayed in room 11 and it was very clean. No complaints there. There was a hot water issue the first 24 hours we were there, but the problem was resolved in a timely manner. The in room fridge is a nice size for storing souvenirs from the Fredericksburg Brewing Company. :) LOVED the wall a/c unit as I am use to sleeping with "fan noise" at night. Overall enjoyable stay here.

Hard to find a place in Fredericksburg that will allow you to rent just one weekend night. Enjoyed the stay and the room was quite comfortable. Would stay there again in a heartbeat! Fridge and stove in the room but no pots/pans/plates etc. Great time!!

We stayed last weekend when Fredericksburg was sold out. This looks like a sweet small town drive up motel. The gentleman in reception was nice and accommodating. The rooms were not so nice... I will say they did seem clean (as far as linens). The carpet was worn, the furniture and linens old, the bathroom basic(with a door that did not fit, huge 3" gap at the top). We slept, got up and left. Not a place for a romantic weekend just a place to crash. Really no ambience here at all, but clean.

Rooms were not exactly what we imagined from the website - but they were clean, linens were always fresh, not matchung - but fresh. Staff was a hoot, this is the "Hill Country" very accomodating. This is an Old 1920's establishment with some original parts I am sure. The floors were not level and some settling cracks in the walls - reminds you old great granddad's place, but with indoor plumbing. It is not the kind of place that you drive by and come to a screeching halt to stay at... But did I say it was very clean. The beds were firm. Conventiently located to all the main attractions, on the quiet side of town. Didn't mind paying probably more than it was worth - because it discouraged less desirable travelers from staying. The guests enjoyed sitting out in the mornings and evenings visiting quietly. Very peaceful. Would stay again. I have to give it average - because the curb appeal is not great.

Everything was pretty much sold out in Fredericksburg for Memorial Day weekend, so I was down to less than a handful of choices. After reading the reviews, I chose the Miller Inn. We stayed in room 8, specifically because it was mentioned favorably in another review and it was remodeled. Definitely get a remodeled room... It's only slightly more expensive but well worth it. We had a coffee maker, fridge, antique armoire to hang our clothes in, a pretty comforter with good sheets on a comfortable bed, laminate wood floors, flat screen TV, and a totally redone bathroom with granite countertop. We parked right at our door, and were on the end by the highway, but I only heard outside noise one time (a motorcycle outside the window). Otherwise, absolutely no noise from outside or the other room at all. Check in was quick, rate was correct, and I was very happy with the overall stay. My only complaint would be the minimum 3 night charge, for our stay of only 2 nights. However, I was well aware of this prior to our stay, and most properties in town had the same policy that weekend. It was still highly reasonable... $274 including tax for 3 nights. We will stay here again.

If you're looking for a place to just crash and shower and are on a budget, this is your place. If you're looking for a Hill Country Cottage or a Hampton Inn, this is not for you. My wife and I stayed in Room 107 from Fri 3/8 to Mon 3/11 and paid $237.30 for the whole stay. There are some remodeled rooms that will cost you an extra $20 a night, but I don't know what they look like inside. I have nothing bad to say about this place because it met our most basic needs. The place is old, and does smell a little musty, but it's really not a big deal, it's an old place. I would certainly tell you if it was disgusting or unbearable. The floors are wooden and you can hear the people next door walk around and open and close their doors, but again, it met our basic needs, it was clean. The bed was actually very comfortable and we slept great!! The bed was made for us everyday and towels were replaced every single day. Shower is small but again met our needs. There is no iron or ironing board, hairdryer, shampoo or soap so bring your own. It has a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and little TV. The staff was friendly on check in and checkout and had no problems whatsoever. If we are on a budget or need something last minute we have no problem staying here again. The is place is right in town and easy access to anything.

Had a pleasant 2-day stay. Room was in good shape, place was clean. Rates are reasonable. Everything went well. Reservations were done correctly. Had a small fridge that was handy. Large bathroom in the unit I was in. Some remodeling had been done since the last time there. Will be back.
