I would not recommend this property - the front desk has a negative Superior attitude. Fredericksburg offers many accommodation choices and Hampton Inn is not worth the money. During my stay - the parking lot was empty. Not worth the money and very disappointed. There are better, really charming places to stay in the region.

I wonder if Hampton Inns will settle for being in the "just average" category these days. I made a mistake when making my reservations and made them for the wrong days! My fault, not there's. Very busy weekend and supposedly the only room available for two consecutive nights was the Queen Suite, which was described to me as "very luxurious" - and should be at $189 plus tax!!! So, the first luxury I noticed was the light bulb out on the first lamp I decided to turn on at the desk area. It was burned out! The second luxury item noticed was the TV that would finally turn on after numerous attempts with the control and/or the on switch directly on the unit. Guess that's really small stuff, however for $200/night - I expect perfect!!! Breakfast - average. Everything - AVERAGE!!! Sure disappointing from a regular Hampton visitor. Oh - there was one below average rating - the beds were not up to Hilton standards - sad!

My wife and I stayed at the hotel in February 2012. The hotel is right on Main St. and walking distance to multiple restaurants and shops. Our room had nice outdoor sitting area that was on Main St. The room did not have fridge or microwave which is usually part of Hampton's rooms. That was a disappointment. On Saturday morning, there was no hot water for the shower or sink. That was a very big issue. The reason given was due to the cold weather. The room and bathroom was clean. The workout room is average. The hospital staff was friendly. The outdoor area is very nice with large pool and hot tub. We did not use it due to time of year but it would be nice to have during the summer. I'm a Hilton Diamond member so we will probably stay at the hotel in the future.

Room Tip: Recommend to get room that faces Main St. and includes a balcony

Actually 3-1/2 stars - better than average and just a touch below very good. Probably an above-average Hampton Inn. The room was comfortable (although smelling a bit too strongly of air freshener/cleaner) and clean. The staff at the main desk were always friendly and helpful. The hotel has a nice pool, but it faces the sometimes noisy road in front. The balcony was great for breakfast in the morning. Went into town and brought back a great assortment of German pastries for breakfast. It's unrealistic that the hotel could stock them for the free breakfast, but we'd definitely buy them at the hotel if they were available. Will probably stay here next time we're in Fredericksburg - the bed & breakfasts in town have become over-priced and unpredictable in their quality.

The public areas and parking are very clean and well maintained. The corridors are well lit and very clean with nice cheerful carpet. The suite was very clean, sheets crisp, towels white and crisp. It is a nice , large, naturally bright suite. What is a bit odd is that despite a sink, microwave and fridge, there was no paper towels and not even a few paper plates and basic cutlery.
The lady at check out, early morning, was not particulay friendly.
It is however, in my opinion, superior to the Inn on Barons Creek.

Very over priced. Stayed there 12-23-2011. They said price was high because of the
holidays. Must have been alot of walk up traffic, no cars in parking lot. Love Hampton Inn's,
just not the price for what you get.

We chose the Hampton Inn because it is in walking distance to the downtown Fredericksburg and it was suited for a family. We did not think that the many Bed and Breakfasts in town would be excited by our family of five, including 3 children. The location was great and it was nice to just walk out of the hotel to a meal and to the holiday activities in the main square.

The staff was very friendly. The desk manager went out of his way to help us with finding a suitable restaurant.

The hotel is clean and seems fairly new. My one complaint is that the Suite room was not really a suite. It was just a larger-than-normal room. We were expecting a sleeping area separated from the sitting area, as we have found in many other similar hotels. If I had more closely examined the pictures, I would have realized that the layout of the room.

We will definitely stay at this hotel on our next trip to Fredericksburg.
