“Great for Architecture”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

A must do is to walk the Strand up and down and take in the 1800s architecture. Many buildings have been restored to a fine degree, look at the details. The shops are pretty much standard beach curio shops, but added architectural details can be seen on the building interiors. Paralleling the Strand downtown a few streets over away from the harbor is Postoffice Street with art galleries and better restaurants.

“Good shops”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Strand area buildings remind you of New Orleans. Great shops, food, drinks, gifts and the prices are good too. It was enjoyable to take our time walking down one side and back up the other side. People were friendly.

“Shop 'till You Drop”

A fun day walking and shopping. It was nice to shop so many stores without it being the same thing over and over again. Just make sure you keep that meter feed or the meter maid will catch you.

“Fun and historic”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

It wasn't the most exciting thing we have EVER done, but with the beaches' seaweed infestation - it was a fun experience with a learning element for our 9-year old twins.

“Touring the Strand”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Lots of walking around, but some really neat shopping and places to grab a snack or drink in the area. Best in the morning when it is cool in the summer time though.
