So relaxing to walk up and down the seawall. Really enjoyed the tacos from the little taco stand set up by the yummy snow cone place. The seaweed was not bad at all this trip. Where it was bad at the beginning of July.

The Seawall is great but remember to take a debit or creidt card as you have to pay for parking, its $1.00/hour and you do it through an app on your phone. The shops were great, the speed limit is too high for that many people so be careful when crossing.

This is our second trip back here and it was fun. Brought two of our grandsons down to spend a week at the Beach. Seagrass was a pain in the @$$ but you get used to it. Plenty to do and see. Make sure you go to the Pleasure Pier and Murdochs.

“The OLD steps in the concreate are crazy steep!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

We enjoyed walking the seawall. The beach in front of our hotel was over run with seaweed, and the sand was mucky, we quit beach walking when I sank to my knee. Then we discovered the beach around 8th street is great. We didn't pay for parking along the seawall, there are no stall numbers like around the strand.

“To crowded”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

Tacky looking. First time I was in Galveston and drove down to the sea wall I thought how ugly. I had been in the historic area and the contrast between the two was vast. This looks like a very typical touristy attraction. Having said that, it would appeal to your teenage and early twenty group. Having to cross a VERY busy road to get to the beach it just crazy I do not understand why pedestrians bridges have not been built over the road to make it safer. And allowing parking on the side of this road also adds to the safety issues, as cars are always stopping to park. This make traveling down this way very slow Would never stay at a hotel near here as I would not want to be around this mess daily The beach here is also a mess, seaweed everywhere, and hardly any beach to speak of.
