“Fantastic and Memorable!”
Reviewed 20 September 2013

I'm more of a review reader than writer, but our stay was so perfect that I felt the need to share our experience. From our first step in the door to our last step out, it was wonderful. My husband and I stayed in unit 107, and were delighted with every aspect of our visit. We were welcomed (sincerely!) every time we walked into the lobby, and the staff were genuine and helpful in answering questions and providing suggestions. Even from our low floor, we had a beautiful view of the beach. As a bonus to being on a low level, we could smell the tropical flowers with every hint of breeze. It reminded me SO MUCH of my last visit to Jamaica - the air was just softly perfumed. (Kudos to the hardworking groundskeepers - I'm a very early riser and could see them tending plants by 7:00 every morning. It's obvious that they really care about the health and beauty of the vegetation.) The walk to the beach took maybe three leisurely minutes from the lobby, over a lovely boardwalk. The beach was very clean and wasn't crowded (we did stay Monday-Wednesday, so I can't promise anything to the weekenders).

The unit was well stocked with everything we could possibly need (shampoo, soap, dishes, even a little dishwasher), and plenty of beach towels were available in the lobby. We ate out at every meal, but the fridge came in handy to store leftovers for snacking. It's in a relatively secluded area, so we did have to drive everywhere; however, it was definitely worth it - we didn't have to hear any loud partying or drunken beachgoers. During our stay, most of the guests were retired couples and a few families with thankfully well-behaved children.

We couldn't ask for more, and we'll definitely, certainly, positively be back to Galveston, to the Galvestonian, and to unit 107!

Hi Moonpie71,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your visit to the Galvestonian. We are glad you had a memorable stay. Jesus our groundskeeper works really hard to ensure the property's plants and flowers are well maintained. Most guests want to stay higher for the view. The view on the first floor is also good and you are right above the hibiscus plants where you can smell their fragrances. April would be a great time for you to come back. All of the flowers are in full bloom, the hummingbirds are here, and the weather is fantastic. We hope to see you back in the near future.

Sincerely,
Greg Clark

Another great stay at the Galvestonian. This is only place to stay if you want to be right on the water. Sitting on your private balcony with morning coffee or your favorite drink in the evening. So relaxing. The staff at the Galvestonian is friendly and professional. You cannot be disappointed in a condo at the Galvestonian. Ours had everything we could possibility need and more. Tried surfing lessons on this trip. What great fun! Had the best instructor from ValzSurf. If you want to try something new, Val is an excellent teacher with unbelievable enthusiasm. Also enjoyed dinners at some of the many Galveston restaurants. Decided Fisherman's Wharf is my favorite. Already missing the sounds of the waves and the absolutely beautiful landscaped grounds at the Galvestonian! ---BCS, Plano,Texas

Hi Barbara S,

We really appreciate your kind comments about our staff here at the Galvestonian. They love reading trip advisor reviews. I think it’s really cool that you took surfing lessons. I think I remember speaking to you about it… These past 2 weekends the surf has really been up! This last Monday it came up almost all the way to the walkover with the equinox tides. There are so many restaurants that are very good to choose from here in Galveston and Fisherman's Wharf ranks right up there with the best of them. We are glad you had a relaxing stay and we hope to see you back again soon.

Thank you,
Greg Clark

I agree with all the positive reviews about this wonderful place. We brought 3 adults, our 2 grown sons & 2 of their friends to the Galvestonian August 8th-11th 2013 for my Mom's Birthday. Our 3 bedroom was beautifully decorated with a nautical theme. The living room had floor to ceiling glass offering an awesome view of the ocean. The kitchen was fully stocked, we made spaghetti the first night. There were 4 TV's, a large stand alone ice machine, large sectional couch, glider chair, dining room table, counter with bar stools. 1st bedroom had a queen bed and a bathroom a few steps across the hall.
On the other side of condo, 2nd room had twin beds and a bathroom. 3rd bedroom had a king bed and a bathroom. I had coffee from the lobby each morning, really good. There were donut holes and fruit the mornings we were there. We attended a performance of the Golden Acrobats at the Opera house, rode the ferry, shopped at the Strand and Ice cream at La Kings. Didn't spend the money to walk the pier but did go to the Moody aquarium and Rain forest. We haven't been to Galveston for a decade, lots of things have changed (Ike) Loved that we could walk out onto the beach, not having to cross a busy street to get to the seawall. Over all a great time.

Room Tip: We were on the 11th floor, really great view. The Galvestonian website has pictures of the rooms so...

Hi Disneygoof,

Thank you for the wonderful review on our property. We are glad you and your family had a great vacation getaway here at the Galvestonian. We are also pleased that it was on your mom's birthday. Our 3 bedroom condos are great for large families and it sounds like yours had everything you needed. Galveston has a very rich history offering plenty of things to do for everyone. We hope to see you back in the near future. Thank you for taking the time to write the review.

This was our first stay at the Galvestonian and it did not disappoint us. The condo was beautiful as well as the grounds. You can be assured that you will have a safe family stay here. I am not one to write reviews, but from the complimentary coffee to the glow bracelets for kiddos evening swims, I wouldn't feel right not doing so. Thank you for a great vacation.

We recently went to Galveston and were so impressed, that we came back a few weeks later. This trip however, we stayed at the #1 hotel per tripadvisor and that's the Galvestonian. It's a condo resort community. The community exists on the east side of the island, which translates to drive through the whole strip and keep driving, it's down on the right. It's not a bad thing though! I loved the fact that this community is directly off of the east beach and it's less crowded where they are located. The resort has a pool area that is very nice and there are showers available whenever you come off of the beach back to the pool (to get rid of any pesky sand - yay!). The resort served watermelon prior to noon to guests at the pool on the weekend that we stayed. There are areas for cookouts (i.e. there is a covered patio to the side of the pool, there are bbq pits walking down from the pool to the beach with tables and chairs) and they provide donut holes, fruit and coffee from 7 to I think 10 am on weekends. The room (or at least ours) opens up with a bathroom directly as the first door (ours was to the left), then a full working kitchen (with everything you need - dishwashing liquid, coffee filters, silverware, pots/pans, dishes, etc), a den with a pull out couch and a bedroom. The patio overlooks the pool and the beach. Each morning we woke to waves crashing and a beautiful sunrise. I would recommend staying at the Galvestonian and would definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: Great beach location with patios! Noise wasn't an issue and we were right over the pool/doors th...

Hi SCoutee73,

Your review reminds me of exactly why we love working here. Being nestled here on East Beach away from the crowds makes for a very peaceful stay. Every condo has a gulf view! It is very relaxing to sit out on the balcony and hear the waves crashing onto the beach. And for those who wake up early enough, Galveston is known for our spectacular sunrises just as Key West is known for their sunsets. We are glad your family had a great stay. We look forward to having you visit with us once again.

Thank you,

Having never been to Galveston before, we decided to take trip advisors advice and stay here. Soooo glad we did. The place is awesome. Best beach (really the only decent beach( around. You can rent umbrellas and chairs out on the beach... Short drive to everything but away from all the hustle and traffic. Will do again
