Today, our guests visit 20 rooms on a self-guided tour that depicts the home life of a powerful Texas family. The Moodys established one of the great American financial empires. The details in the home are beautiful. The tour was very good and learned lots of historical facts about the family and the city of Galveston. There are even old cars in the garage. It is remarkable that the house survived two hurricanes and still looks amazing. Well worth the cost of admission.

The Moodys did very well for themselves and had a lovely home. It's now open for others to see and enjoy. Beautiful and fine detail in this architectural beauty. A few vintage cars are in the garage, where the tour begins. Well worth the time.

This was my 4th trip to Moody and we brought guests. I was terribly embarrassed because the docent did not know how to handle the group, we could not hear, he talked the whole time without stopping for the group to catch up, and I felt that the story of this wonderful family and their home was WASTED! The woman in the ticket booth was too busy plaing on the computer (solitaire) to answer questions. One tour group overran another because no one thought to separate the groups. The VCR was started and then stopped out of confusion. It would seem that the Moody family would want a more efficient effort at showing their beautiful home and telling their story. SAD!

Grand old home that has survived two major hurricanes. Was a guided tour and the tour guide knew so much about the property and lots of little tid bits that might be missed otherwise.

A step back in history to see how life was in the early 1900's of Galveston. The detail in house was very interesting. Informative on how Galveston Island has progressed after the storm of 1900 and a great look at the modern conveniences that were available in the early 1900's.
