Avenue O Bed and Breakfast

We stayed one night here before cruising on the Carnival Magic. Connie was very friendly and the house was elegant yet comfortable. We stayed in the South Pacific room which had a very comfortable bed. Connie's chocolate chip cookies were a perfect treat when we got home from walking around The Strand on Art Night, recommended by Connie. Breakfast was perfect and our stay included a parking voucher to park for 7 nights less than two blocks from the Port terminal at the railroad museum. Skip a hotel and stay here to either enjoy Galveston or as a single night before sailing on a cruise.

Lovely place for a small outdoor wedding. Very charming. The gazebo was beautiful & well decorated. You don't need to add anything for a perfect ceremony! We didn't stay at the B&B, but it looked very nice & well kept.

Connie and Jim are down to earth and comfortable to be around. Main house is antique with hippy touches. They know area and are helpful, thoughtful of ones' comfort. The beds and pillows are down ; so if one is allergic ; the feathers , rugs and cat hair might be a bother but all in all ; the two nights I spent was a home away from home. The breakfast is made for a king and large enough for a hungry man.The place is best for couples having a * romantic time or just married consummating relations.

This is a casual warm, friendly B&B. The room & bathroom were very clean. The location of the B&B is ideal because it is located close to EVERYTHING. The room was separate from the main house and very quiet. Anything we needed... they had and if they didn't , they made sue to find it for us. Excellent restaurant recommendations!

My husband and I were very happy and will be back to enjoy more stress free, relaxing days.
Thank you Connie for a job well done. We'll see you soon!

I began working with Connie months before the scheduled wedding (a surprise wedding for our daughter per the wishes of her groom - she knew she was getting married (2nd marriage) but not when or where and she knew we were planning it) The groom had rented the "Rain forest Room"
for two nights so we could store things for the wedding before we went to our beach house in Crystal Beach. My husband and I decided to go up a night early and had booked the Safari Room, but Connie upgraded us to the European Suite. We were delighted with the room and were able to get all of the wedding things unloaded and get a "lay of the land" Connie's husband,Jim, was a treasure - and such a great help - THANK YOU JIM! We awoke to an amazing breakfast - so yummy! We returned on Tuesday, the day of the Wedding and had just a few hours to decorate and get things ready, but it turned out beautifully! Connie had arranged for the Pastor (Dr. Magee was just delightful and performed the most beautiful ceremony), she had arranged for the cake which was perfect and delicious, and for the catered dinner of Blueberry/orange salad, Lemon Chicken, Scalloped Potatoes, Carrots with cherries and ginger and dinner rolls. At 8:15 the wedding horse and carriage arrived and whisked the newlyweds off for a tour of the strand. The location was perfect, Connie & Jim were wonderful and my daughter (who was completely surprised and thrilled) said it was her "Fairy Tale Wedding" Thanks again Connie & Jim

Room Tip: The Rain Forest Room has a wonderful balcony overlooking the grounds AND the Whale Tub!

Our stay at Avenue O Bed & Breakfast in Galveston was just about perfect. Connie greeted us with a warm welcome, a good cookie and a great room. We stayed in the South Pacific room and enjoyed the balcony in the late evening under the full moon. The Bananas Foster French Toast was so light and yummy and we didn't think breakfast the second morning could top it. But we were treated to an equally good artichoke and roasted red pepper quiche for our second breakfast. It was so good that we took the recipe home and fixed it for guests that very next week-end. To top off everything, our dog, Casey, was greeted with affection and a doggie treat. All three of us couldn't have felt more at home. Thanks, Connie, for a wonderful stay. Jane and Tom Waco, Texas

Anyone ever read a historical fiction about an African Safari or a Sahari Desert caravan? Sleep in the Safari Room and enjoy the effects of a tent with the comforts of home. Lovely bed, tv w/dvd, and a mini fridge. While Connie can not treat you to wild game or a desert sheik, she fixes a mean egg strata and awesome chocolate chip cookies. Four blocks from the beach and seawall blvd and less than a mile from the Strand shopping area it is at a great location. Also, there is free wifi. Most bed and breakfasts don't have that. They don't even think about that. Kudos to Connie for taking prime care of her guests. I'll be back.

Room Tip: Drive to the strand and read the parking meter instructions carefully. YOu will need the number of...
