Went to visit family in galveston and had a craving for Mexican food. Wanted something besides the typical fast food stuff. When we drove up to this place I had high hopes...I was in no way displeased. The outside as well as the interior of the building isn't much too look at but we came for the food, not looks. My first hint of the greatness of the food to come was the outstanding HOT sauce and the crispy but light chips. The menu (which was once only in spanish) also gave us a clue as to the goodness of thier food, it included such items as Barbacoa, Chicharrones, as well as Lengua. They have a wide variey of items to choose from. They serve breakfast as well, but we came for lunch. I tried the chile releno, the filling of beef was tender and flavorful, the pepper was spicy, refried beans had a pleasant smoky flavor...no complaint at all. My dining partners tried the chimichanga and the quesadillas and said it was the best they had. Everything tasted freshly made, and it all has true authentic mexican flavor. One hint that I'd like to give is to be sure and order extra flour tortillas, I don't believe that I have ever had tortillas like this. I wish that I had ordered more when we finished the rest of our meal that night ( the portions are huge). Prices are extremly reasonable for the quality of the food that they serve. Service was outstanding. I can't wait to go back
