We arrived, paid our $2.00 entry fee and had the place to ourselves. It is a grand building and we enjoyed walking around on its various levels..
Like much of Galveston, it is lucky to still be standing given all of the storms, floods and fires.
It will not take long to see the building but take advantage of having found a parking space to walk around the historic strand area.
When parking along the streets, to be careful of the high curbs. While obvious build that way decades ago, they are a good way for rental companies to charge for scratches if not careful.
