“great music venue”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 January 2014

Enjoyed two musical events here in one week, sat in two different sections, had great views and could hear the music well. Some seats are a little tight though and I felt cramped in the balcony seating, although I'm small framed and 5'3"!! They do offer wine, beer and snacks and you can buy a sippy cup to take your drinks into the theater. The theater itself is very beautiful. Would go back on our next visit to Galveston.

“Great historical feeling!”

Great venue, but very close seating. Not much leg room. Upper balcony seats had good views. If you sit on the upper balcony, be prepared for a lot of stairs to get up there.

“Great concert experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 January 2014

A very intimate venue. Liked the addition of the "sippy cups" that let you take a beverage to your seat. Also nice to have so many restaurants near by.

We had a wonderful time. The Opera House is beautiful. Seating was a little cramped. But we loved the atmosphere.

“wonderful building”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 December 2013

We arrived, paid our $2.00 entry fee and had the place to ourselves. It is a grand building and we enjoyed walking around on its various levels..

Like much of Galveston, it is lucky to still be standing given all of the storms, floods and fires.

It will not take long to see the building but take advantage of having found a parking space to walk around the historic strand area.

When parking along the streets, to be careful of the high curbs. While obvious build that way decades ago, they are a good way for rental companies to charge for scratches if not careful.
