“Very cool drive though history.”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

Just seeing the old houses - those still in use and those boarded up - really brings the old island back to life. With every missing shingle you have to wonder... was this IKE? we it from the 1900 storm?

“Wow!”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

What a gorgeous neighborhood! Lots of work has been done on many of these beautiful old homes! You can really tell that people take pride and are investing in the preservation of these grand old houses. So many wonderful styles of architecture, and very colorful.

“We drove around looking at houses on the Home Tour this year and found a couple that were the Home Tours in years past.”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

I like everything about driving around looking at these historic houses. Well.. except for the fact that the area lost so many big old trees in the area. That part is sad.

“do while on Galveston”
Reviewed 21 February 2014

There are books you can purchase to do your own walking tour or hire a guide for a tour. Historic houses, some in good repair and some not so. The wood carvings, at some of the homes, from tree stumps left after Ike are interesting when you hear/read the significance the carving has for that property.

“Beautiful homes”
Reviewed 5 January 2014 via mobile

These beautiful homes are located on an amazing street. The entire street is just beautifully decorated especially during this Christmas season. This is worth a trip off the usual beaten path. These homes look something like the ones from New Orleans but uniquely belongs to Galveston.
