“Best Hotel in Town!”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

In December, 22 of us stayed here the night before our cruise. All I can say is- everything was great. Rooms, comfy beds, floors, check in, breakfast, it was all great. A lot of hotels in Galveston, but you really have to check these out. This one is also located across the street from the beach..

We stayed here prior to a cruise. There was free parking while we were on our cruise and a shuttle to the terminal and back for $20. We booked the shuttle upon arrival and they were ready for us early. The room was very nice, roomy, and looked out on the outdoor pool. There was a free breakfast in the morning with Texas shaped waffles. There is not much nearby in the way of eateries or shopping, so grab a bite and do your shopping before you get there. There was a mini fridge and microwave in the room and coffee/tea.

My daughter and I stayed here Jan 20-22 and found it a very good bargain. Very clean rooms, close to Moody Gardens, small but functional fitness room. The only complaint was the complimentary breakfast. The food was poor quality- scrambled eggs that tasted like yellow styrofoam, flavorless sausage and stale cereal. The only yogurt was Light and Fit, which is also tasteless. On the upside, they did have good fresh fruit and coffee. I'd get a breakfast bar or muffin elsewhere next time, but would still stay here again.

We stayed at the Comfort Suites the night before a week-long cruise, in part because they had a cruise ship shuttle and allowed us to leave our car at the hotel while we were gone. The morning of check-out, the front desk attendent informed us that the cruise ships had not yet docked because of fog. He offered to allow us to stay in our room, free of charge, until the ships docked and we could be shuttled to the cruise ship terminal. We ended up staying until 4:30 in the afternoon, napping and watching TV. We were very grateful for the service and would stay at this hotel again in the future. How refreshing to be treated so well without any additional charge!

The rooms are clean and comfortable. A full breakfast is included. Free parking is also included. We were going on a cruise the next morning. but it was fogged in for about 7 hours. The staff were so nice in letting us stay in our room until boarding on the ship. They were so great about keeping us uptodate on the ship. We also bought the transportation to and from the ship from Comfot Suites.. When we got back they were so stacked up with requests for transportation they paid for Yellow Cab to pick us up. We would definitely stay there again.

We booked this hotel (group of 4) because it offered parking during our cruise and shuttle service to and from the ship. Getting to the ship was fine but when we disembarked, after a huge delay because of fog, we were told we'd have to wait over an hour (in the rain) for the shuttle. We informed the desk clerk we'd take a taxi and expected half our shuttle fare back, which we did receive. BTW, if you're a group of two or more couples, it's far cheaper to share a taxi than use the shuttle. We'd stay here again but not use the shuttle.

We stayed here on 12/18, the night before our Carnival cruise. The place seems fairly new, but our room already had a couple stains on the carpet. The staff was friendly and helpful (Harsh as well. I mention this since an earlier reviewer complained about him). The tv was the old tube style and didn't have that many channels. I watched tv on the big flat screen tv that night in the breakfast area since our kids were watching in the room. The halls and main areas were noticeably cold. It seemed like they didn't have the heat on. Breakfast was average with what seemed to be powered eggs.

My main complaint is that the hotel key machine was broken. This meant that we didn't have a room key. Therefore, every time we wanted to go into our room, we had to have the front desk person, Harsh, let us in.

Harsh said that there were only a total of four front desk employees, and no one else was available to work that night to help let everyone into their rooms. He said the machine wouldn't be fixed until Wednesday (3 days later). He did say that once the card machine was fixed, they were going to make spare keys for all the rooms as a backup if it happens again. He also said that he wasn't authorized by the manager to give a discount for the guests' inconvenience.

To me, this shows a lack of caring on the manager's and owner's part. If they cared about us, they would have given us some type of compensation. I don't know if we'll stay at this motel again.
