We loved the balcony view, salt air,and the location
was within walking distance of great places to eat.
The room was excellent.T.V. and internet worked great.
Walk on over to the Rainforest Cafe'.First time
for us there and the atmosphere and food was
excellent.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool.

It is great to hear even after all these years we are still firing on all cylinders for customer service. We strive hard to offer a consistant product with exceptional service. Thank you once again and we look forward to you returning.

We stayed a Friday night, with the executive king room oceanfont views. All in all hotel was ok. But for a room cost at over $250 one would expect it to be above average. This fell a bit short of expectations for a presumably higher end Holiday Inn.

Ocean front view comes with a view of the top of a very large roof over the lobby with A/C units which was not even very nicely kept up or organized. A bit of an eyesore in contrast to the ocean view.

The wi-fi, although free, was pretty weak and kept dropping out, requiring sitting near the window for better performance.

A smoke detector battery was getting low and kept emitting a beep every 20 minutes in the middle of the night. Front desk did not seem overly concerned and did not even apologize for the inconvenience.

This was enough that we would rather spend a few bucks more and go next door to what looked like a much nicer hotel at the San Luis Resort. Or even quite a few bucks less ($110) at Gaido's where we once had an oceanfront "no frills" room closer to the beach and which has two restaurants and a nice bar on the premises, and Joe's Crab Shack a block away. So far in Galveston we had a better experience at Gaido's than the Holiday Inn.

We were happy with our room and the staff was helpful with recommendations for restuarants, etc.. But - our room was on the 4th floor, about level with the top of the palm trees where there were some very noisy birds squacking at night and starting again at sunrise!

Other than that - nice hotel. at a good price. We had a room overlooking the gulf with a balcony and the pool looked nice, but was too cold when we were there.

Imagine after a ten hour drive through lousy weather, you are exhausted and check in and go to your room with your two daughters to find out that your room only had one bed instead of the two you reserved. You go back to the desk and find out the room you reserved had been given away and you were being "upgraded" to a room with only one bed, and there were no other rooms available. Since we had little choice due to the late hour, I made a bed out of a not so easy chair, a hassock and the rolling desk chair and gave my daughters the bed. Probably won't be in Galveston again, but I think I'll just avoid the whole Holiday Inn brand from now on.

I do realize your frustration in this incident and for that I apologize. I defiantly do not want to discourage you from using our hotel or Holiday Inn brand in general as this is not how we operate. When you get a moment could you please contact me (Quinn B) to discuss as I would like to make it right. Thank you.

Lukewarm shower 1st day, cold on the 2nd, no matter how long I ran the tap. seriously mislead regarding breakfast vouchers, was told 'breakfast included' but actually 'deduct $10 per person from breakfast total' was what they meant. 'kids eat free' does not include teens. Were told could use pool next door but could not.

Booked this hotel imagining sitting on our balcony watching the waves roll in across the street. Called months ahead to confirm beachview, 4th floor or higher, king bed. On arrival, however, we were given a first floor room facing an alleyway on the interior of the building. Was told the hotel was full and that was that. No view. Alli, the staff we confirmed with on the phone was also the one that could care less on check in. Arriving at 6 pm, we were too tired to find other accomodations. Pool curfew was not enforced and had to listen to drunk people around the pool at 3am.
