“The Roach Motel”
Reviewed 18 December 2013

This place is full of roaches!!The owner gave me 3 rooms. The first one had fleas, the second room had roaches on the wall, the third room had baby roaches. When I returned to the front desk Arron told me to just make the best of it. I ask him to call the owner to get my money back or another room without roaches he told me no there was nothing he can do about it. Please save your money these people ripped me off. I slept in my vehicle. How is that for a place to stay.

We have family in Garland and have stayed here twice during family get-togethers. The first time was so-so, no major problems but definitely not a hotel I would pin the Ramada name on. The second time was last year when we trailered (in an enclosed trailer) a couple of motorcycles up so we could ride with family. The neighborhood is not good so upon arrival we asked about secure parking. We were told that there was a fenced area where we could park. Great! Do we get a key to the gate or something? No, the gate is left open! So how is that secure?!? We then asked if they had had any recent problems lately and the guy at the desk answered "Well, the last time was a couple of weeks ago when a guy had a Harley stolen out of a trailer." Great! Needless to say, we set alarms on the bikes and slept with one ear listening for signs of trouble.

Unfortunately there are not many decent places to stay in Garland so I can't really recommend anything else but DON'T stay HERE!

Our week stay at the Ramada Limited in Garland, Texas has been the most unpleasant stay we have ever had in any hotel. We were treated rudely from the time of check-in to the fiasco of our check-out by the manager. We were not given enough soap, shampoo, drinking cups, or towels each day. This hotel advertises a Continental Breakfast, but if you are not one of the first to arrive you will not receive any breakfast. When asked if we could have muffins (one of their breakfast items) for our children at 7:00 am, we were told sorry, no more today. The funny thing was that there were no more the next day or the next day and so on. The integrity of this establishment is very poor, as they kept funds from our girls' team, that had been promised to be refunded at our check-out. In good faith, I can not recommend staying at this hotel.

For a limited experience, the Ramada Limited in Garland is the place to go. We stayed there for seven nights with our daughter's softball team, which was playing in a area tournament. The staff limited the amount, quality and selection of its breakfast offering, the amount of soap, towels and plastic cups it put in the rooms, and the amount of cold air it was willing to pipe into the rooms of its "guests." Worst of all, the management limited its integrity by not living up to its promise to refund part of the payment on the rooms if the team checked out early. Teams whose players work hard all year to pay for a nice trip should think twice before risking that hard-earned money with a hotel that forces you to pay even if you don't stay.
