I read about Storiebook on Trip Advisor. How could a former instructor of Children's Literature pass this up? Storie greeted us and told us about the cafe. She also warned us about the uneven floors, the result of this space once having been a flooring store. Flooring samples still make up the floor. This is a whimsical space, full of books (new and used for sale), toys, what nots. I felt sure gnomes and fairies must be living in some of the nooks and crannies. The soup of the day was 15 Bean with Smoked Sausage and it was divinely delicious and very hot. With mine I had half a chicken salad sandwich on wheat berry bread. Very good. The hubs had roast beef and cheese on toasted sourdough. He said the bread and cheese were great. The beef, however, was tough and hard to bite into. I got chocolate pecan pie to go. It tasted more like pudding than I expected it to, but was fine. This is a fun environment run by friendly people who serve tasty food. Enjoy!
