“Good but not great”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

We chose this restaurant because we hoped to have an outstanding meal. While the service was impeccable, the standard of the meal was not. We chose the 9oz fillet, as we are not big eaters, and this was the smallest steak on offer. It was perfectly cooked, but seemed somewhat dry. Our waiter brought a serving of sauce that improved it immensely. However a cinnamon flavoured sweet carrot is not what we might expect in fine dining and while the backed potato with cream and chives was also nice, again it seemed more appropriate for a chain type experience. Finally the all up bill was just shy of $130 for two glasses of wine and two steaks, leaving us feeling that it was not fair value overall. The ambience here is different, being quite old style, but that was certainly not cause for complaint.

“Delicious steaks, appetizers and desserts”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

I recently ate here for a business dinner with eight colleagues. I am usually particular about having a glass of dry rose, but they only had sweeter versions on the menu. However, the rose champagne was dry and fit the bill and the sommelier was helpful in assisting.

We shared scallops and shrimps as appetizers, but I only tried the shrimp which was delicious and came with a BBQ sauce. I ordered a 9oz filet, medium rare and it came out perfectly done. The garlic mashed potatoes and carrots were a tasty compliment. I finished with a key lime pie and espresso which were also good. This was a good quality steakhouse with excellent service and classic ambiance.

“Great from Start to Finish”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

This was our second visit to Bob's Steak and Chophouse - and - if possible - it was better than the first. Our server, Melanie, did a great job. We started off with a special shrimp appetizer - shrimp stuffed with cheese - wrapped in bacon - and then bar-b-qued. Two of us had the bone-in filet and the other had a 28 oz bone-in ribeye they called the Tomahawk. All the steaks were fantastic and perfectly done. Even though some bags were going with us - we could not pass on dessert and it was great as well.

“22 ounces of pure heaven”
Reviewed 27 March 2014

Dined there recently and ordered a 22 oz Australian Wagyu beef steak and it was incredible. The twelve inch bone sticking out of it made it look like it was straight out of The Flintstones. Great service and the wine they recommended was very good. One thing I have to get used to in this area is people smoking in the bar which I haven't had to deal with in years. It appeared they had a powerful air ventilation system though and I didn't smell any cigarette smoke in the dining area.
