We needed a airport hotel with shuttle on arrival and departure at DFW and often stay at HGI's.
Was a real treat to find one this good with excellent service, all the staff went the extra bit to make us feel welcome and were all so helpful. Just what you need after or before a long flight (18Hrs to Aussie). Also breakfast is very good for a HGI.
Its a relatively new HGI and comes with all the "normal" HGI benifits and shuttle service is excellent.
Thanks for two great stays

Room Tip: Make sure you get the hotel number if you need to be picked up from the airport as (to date) not on...

Stayed here the second night of our trip after a bad HIE experience. My expectations were lowered so it should have been easy to blow me away. Room was very comfortble and spacious. I was travelling with five family members, so we got the kin suite which had enty of room.

The big problem was just a sense of unclenliness. The hallways appeared to need a vaccum and there were stains all over our room floor. Simply not what id expect for $179 room.

The hotel provided a 24 hours shuttle service, and was prompt to pick us up at DFW upon paging.

Found the hotel to have modern furnishing, and at the front desk, it was interesting to know that one could customize the firmness of the mattress with Garden Sleep System. More pleasant stuff in the room, ergonomic chair, comfy lounger, Neutrogena amenities.

Two things that didn't go down well, no complimentary bottled water and weak water pressure in the shower.

There were several restaurants in the vicinity, Joe's, Spring Creek, El Fenix et al, and also an entertainment centre. Alternatively, if you did not want to eat out, the hotel had a good menu at fair prices.

Arranged with front desk for a 5am shuttle to DFW and the driver was at least 20 minutes early.

I came to Ft. Worth for a medical procedure and needed to stay overnight. I was interested in this hotel because they listed adjustable beds. We could not get the bed to do anything. There was a dial for the softness, but setting the dial had no effect on the mattress whatsoever. Also there was a refrigerator, but it has no thermostat and it is not cold enough for milk, so I had to get up and go down for breakfast. We thought there was a complimentary breakfast of some type, but no. Breakfast was $10.00 each. I wanted to rest some more before a long trip home in the car, but they were testing the fire alarms the day we were there. Had a miserable time.

The hotel itself was great. Wonderful staff, very accommodating, and plenty of parking. However if you're planning to go into the city daily as I was, it's a little out of the way. It was convenient for location in South Lake, and obviously to get back to the airport, but other than that you're looking at a 20+ min commute.

The hotel was just minutes from the Rental Car Center at DFW. Room was very clean and large. Breakfast was very good. Business Center is accessible and easy to use. Very nice work work out room. Staff was very efficient and somewhat friendly. Very close to plenty of places to eat. Airport Shuttle runs every 30 minutes, need to register with Front Desk for best results.

Room Tip: Rooms on the West side of the building will be quiter than those on the east (front) of the building...

We reserved this hotel for a short overnight stay while in transit at DFW airport. Having not stayed here before we assumed that the hotel shuttle would pass by the arrival terminal at regular intervals and we'd just hop on but, arriving on American at 930pm, the arrival area was deserted. There were no hotel shuttle details on our Hilton hotel confirmation or on the hotel website so we used the airport information phone to get their advice (why does Hilton always provide driving instructions and, particualrly at an airport property, ignore everyone else who arrives by other means?!). DFW Airport information told us to call the hotel direct which we did and the hotel asked which gate number we were standing at to arrange a pick-up. We had no idea and, despite providing our flight arrival information, they weren't able to give us any clues but we then discovered the gate details printed on the farside pillars in the courtesy van area. With that information provided, the hotel sent their shuttle and it collected us after around 15 minutes.

The shuttle driver explained that we needed to pick up another guest from a different terminal and take them to the Hilton Homewood Suites property before we could then be dropped-off at the Garden Inn. This we did but, after leaving the Homewood Suites we encountered a road closed for construction works. The hotel's shuttle driver took a wrong turn and then got lost. After a couple of miles we drove back to the Homewood Suites where the driver phoned for directions and we eventually made it to the Hilton Garden Inn around one hour after first calling for their shuttle. The driver was apologetic but after ten hours of flying, and in the light of the late hour and the shortness of our layover, we were very disappointed with this aspect of our stay particularly given the relatively high room rate we paid.

Once at the hotel things improved - the room was large and nice, the bed great, the staff friendly, and we travelled very smoothly back in to the airport at 0630 the next morning in no more than 10 minutes. We also really liked that at check-in they booked you a specific time for the return shuttle so there was none of the anxiety you experience at some airport properties when the shuttle gets full and you can't get onboard at your chosen time.

As Hilton Hhonors gold level guests and points collectors we selected and booked this stay several months ago and the rate then was only $40 or so less than the Hyatt which is within walking distance of the terminal. An airport property has to work 100% reliably and, in the light of our experience this week, we'd probably choose the Hyatt or a property closer to the airport if our future travel involves a short overnight layover at DFW.
