“Awesome tamales!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 December 2012

Wow! I went to Tommy Tamales to buy specialty salsa and walked out with 3 kinds of tamales. They are so good! I will be going back to buy some for Christmas gifts. Don't miss this place if you are in Grapevine. The owner is very nice as well!

“OMG! Yumm...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 November 2012

When in grapevine dont miss this gem. I have loved tamales since I was a young girl. These tamales are homemade and not loaded with lard. My fav is the poblano chicken. But, they are all tasty. My sister really enjoyed the beef tenderloin. This is not a dine in resturant, strictly a take out. Everything I experienced from customer service to the tamales themselves was great.

“Very good Tamales”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 November 2012

The Tamales that I picked up (carry out only) were very good. I tried the pork and got them with no sauce or other fixings. I am sure the extra stuff would have been just as good as the Tamales. My test was to known if they needed anything. These are good enough to eat plain. I am from out of state and visit the area at least once a year. I will stop here again.
The store was nice for a "tamale stand" and they sell a variety of sauces and salsas. The couple who owns the store was most attentive to me and answered questions easily. I liked them both right away.
This is a store that I will visit again.
Hey guys, ever think about adding coconut pie? Seriously, keep doing what works. I like it.

“Amazing Tamales”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 February 2012

I ordered 6 dozen tamales including pork, cheese and chicken poblano as an appetizer dish for a progressive dinner. They were a huge hit. Definitely will be back for more.

“Gringos selling great Mexican tamales”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2011

If the name sounds familiar, this outpost used to be on Hwy 26 in Colleyville. Go in and visit with owners Steve and JoAnn - great friendly people offering some excellent choices of tamales. See their menu for a good variety from pork and chicken to black bean/cheese or feta/spinach to cinnamon/raisin/apple. Good stuff!

You'll also find a booth at Grapevine Farmer's Market -- Thursday, Friday, and Saturday: 8 AM - 4 PM (April through October)

They have certain selections heated and ready to eat, but most will have to be heated at home. If you know what you want beforehand, you could call ahead and I'm sure they'd have them ready for you when you arrive. Either way, it's a take-out establishment - no tables or chairs.

In addition to the tamales, they have jarred chili, salsas, chips as well as jams and jellies.

(the chicken poblano is really good and the habenero (spicy) pork is VERY hot. My favorite is the pork with hatch chilis when in season. They're the real deal, made with lard. Pretty tasty. Most others are made with vegetable oil.)
