“Great convention property”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

4 nights in an atrium view room attending a conference also on-sight.

The Gaylord has a Vegas-esue feel about it. The massive atrium with its fountains, bridges, piped music and paths is really attracive however. The room was fine, super-big bathjroom. A colleague had a more modernized room with less heacy wood furniture so I guess they are progressively renovating. The only issue with the atrium view is a lot of noise carries upwards and the music doesn't turn off until 11pm,

You've got a number of dining choices here and the Glass Cactus club is great. Fitness club was fine, everything you need and the 2 pools (didn't get to Paradise Springs) looked good also. Staff were proffesional abd courteous but the best feature here was the short walk to the convention hall which made getting to/from the room super-easy.

The only negative is the way the Super Shuttle guys "attack" you on exit from the hotel. I wanted to grab a taxi but they convinced me they'd leave straight away and get me to DFW on-time. Wasn't to be. Anyway boarded the van which was then held back to cram another 2 people in.

After navigating the quick trip to the airport it transpired that the 2 guys next to me were told they would be going direct to Love airport. They weren't happy. Guy did not remember my stop so had to tell him again. On exit told me he can only take cash despite having Visa, MasterCard and Amex logos everywhere inside the van. Said I had no cash (and same for the lady getting off at the same terminal with me). Finally he got his Square reader out and begrudgingly took my card but without adding a $1 as a surcharge. Clearly this guy had zero customer service skills, was a liar and was just out to get the maximum $ per pax. He also left me miles from the United entrance "just walk up the stairs and turn left"......

The Gaylord engagement should monitor and speak to these on-site operators as it was the only negative on a great visit.

The hotel was gorgeous, we didn't get to enjoy the outdoors much due to the weather. However, the time we did spend at the pool & water-park was awesome! The staff was excellent & very attentive to our needs. I'd recommend renting a cabana...its a bit pricey, but well worth it! We did encounter some issues with additional, unauthorized charges from the Texan bar, however those were cleared up without difficulty.

Parking was a nightmare.Automatic arm didn't work (twice) and there was no one on duty to resolve the issue. I literally spent 20 minutes stuck in the lot while other cars piled in behind me. It wasn't just me either because the guy behind me got out of his vehicle and had the same issues.I was embarrassed for them.
The pool boast a zip line for the kids. It is literally 10' and the experience last 1-2 seconds tops.
The lazy river has more people than tubes.
The beers are $7 each and the margaritas are straight syrup.
On top of the 18 per day resort fee you get to pay an additional $35 to go to the pool area where you can pay $16 for sunscreen.
The lockers are state of the art but they do not provide directions on how to access them.

Planes take-off from DFW Airport and literally run directly over the top of the resort so you get to hear the roar of 747's all night long.

Over all an extremely disappoint experience with a hefty Texas price tag.

I stayed here with a couple friends for a weekend getaway. It was a good time. The price for the accommodations was fair, the room was great, and we really enjoyed the outdoor pool. Friday nights there's fireworks. You get a great view from the Glass Cactus Night Club, which is on the property. The service was good, with the exception of the concierge. The concierge did not have menus for restaurants on the property. We also asked the concierge to send a corkscrew up to our our room, but it never arrived. As for the food, it was pretty uneven. Room service was prompt, but the food was nothing to write home about.

Room Tip: Get a balcony room in the Texas Tower.

We stayed here to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. It was great relaxing at Paradise Springs, having a drink and soaking up some sun. Dinner at Old Hickory was fantastic and consistently awesome compared to our last visit 2 years ago. Our room was in the Riverwalk section, 2nd level with Atrium view. The issue we experienced was with some inconsiderate young males playing on the bean bag game boards. These guys were extremely loud from 11pm until about 1am. At midnight I called Guest Services to complain and they asked them to please be quiet. But being drunken jerks, they ignored the Staff and continued to be loud. Being it's the Atrium their noise echoed throughout and I'm sure they disturbed many other guests.

I want to compliment the Gaylord staff when we checked out. When asked how our stay was, we were honest that everything was great except the inconsiderate jerks being loud late at night. I didn't ask for anything but the Staff member reduced our room price by 50%. We thought this was a great gesture and showed they care about their guests stay. We will return to the Gaylord but probably request an outside view and not in the Riverwalk section.

Room Tip: If an Atrium room is not important, request an outside view. It can be noisy at night and the noise...

The resort is beautiful, but even thought it was warm weather, lazy river was closed. The room was nice, but the walls were quite thin. I heard the person in the other room quite clearly, which made be believe that they could hear me as well. Nice to have the little refrig in the room and the safe. It was also most convenient to the conference I attended.

Visited this location with grandchildren and they loved it. They had the Paradise lazy river park open which was a lot of fun for them. It has a bus shuttle that runs kids out there, about a 3 minute ride. They also had a saltwater indoor pool that they had a great time using. This hotel also has a lot of unique areas for walking around and exploring. The rooms were nice with a small refrigerator and safe which we utilized. The food however, was quite high priced and per Trip Advisor reviews, was not recommended. Overall, it was a fun stay and the staff were very nice to all of us.Parking, self-park, is $17 per day as well.
