I made a reservation here yesterday, as I was coming to town to visit my suddenly ill father in law. I made the reservation on-line for two nights. I understood that if I had to cancel I'd still have to pay for one night, although that's a stupid rule (had they turned away guests in the past 20 hrs., I don't think so). So my flight was cancelled, I'm going to have the reschedule the trip. I'm at the airport, and call the hotel to cancel, ASAP, so they don't hold a room for me. I tried to explain this to the woman who answered, but as soon as I mentoined the word "cancel," she started going off, "No, no, no cancel." Me: look, I understand if you want to keep the first night, although that's a stupid policy, and you're getting money for absolutely nothing, at least cancel the second night. Her: no, no, you have to cancel online. Me: I'm in my car, I don't have a computer, I'm trying to give you the courtesy of letting you know ASAP. Her: no, no, you have to use the computer.
You can imagine how the rest of the coversation went. The woman is a lousy human being and a lousy hotel owner. I'll stay at a nicer place next time.
