Absolutley fantastic. The photos do not do it justice as the charm of the Rock House was beyond our expectations. Everything was perfect and it made our visit to Hico a special treat. We had a family reunion and the outdoor seating really came in handy. Plenty of parking and the grounds are serene.

An absolute labor of love. It has been beautifully restored. The bed was fabulous, the home clean, cozy, and quiet, and the decor couldn't have been selected more perfectly to compliment such a treasure.

This home is perfect for couples, families, and blended families or a small group of friends. What a great girls' weekend getaway it would be!

The pie at the restaurant was fabulous, and the service was friendly!

I accidentally left my jacket behind, and they were so kind as to mail it to me. Thank you Dan and Leda for sharing your lovely home. We cannot wait to return!

The pie at the restaurant was delicious!

This is a perfect place to stay in Hico, Texas. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you are at home. The king size bed was so comfy it was very difficult to get going. My wife and I did not want to leave. The property is so beautiful and the huge trees makes it even more beautiful! The decor inside the Rock House takes you back in time and the claw foot tub was a bonus for my wife. We will definitely return!

This is a truly charming bed and breakfast that takes you back to a simpler time. The house itself is probably 100 years old and is remarkably restored and beautifully decorated. It was very clean and had all the comforts of home . The beds are very comfortable. We were fortunate enough to have the whole house to ourselves and enjoyed just going from room to room and inspecting the antiques and original building materials. It is a kid friendly bed and breakfast if you aren't splitting the house and our little ones loved exploring the grounds and trees outside. No complaints as far as service and facility. My husband complained of a smell. I couldn't put my fingeer on what exactly it was, and it is not a "bad" or dirty smell but it is quite noticeable. Honestly it smells like I remember my Mamaw's old house smelling (which was also a 100 year old rock house) so to me it smelled like "home."
We ate at the Kofee Kup in the evening instead of breakfast and it was yummy. Their burgers and sandwiches are award winning, and so is their pie. They offer at least 10 varieties of homemade pie on any given evening so bring your sweet tooth. You won't be disappointed.

This is a perfect place for our very busy city living family to get away too. It is close to the DFW area, nestled in the charming town of Hico, close to many family friendly attractions, and has the best beds. Our family has started spending one week here a year and we hope to keep it up for many more years. Oh, and having the breakfast at the Koffee Kup is definitely not to be missed!

I was looking for a place to "get away" from the grind of daily life. Finding The Old Rock House was a very unexpected surprise! First, the owner, Leda, went out of her way to make sure we could stay in the house with a very "last minute" reservation! As we drove into the property, we were taken back by the ambience of the house and grounds. Old oak trees, two rockers on the porch and lots of land surround this quaint and charming bed and breakfast inn. The internet pictures do not do the Old Rock House Bed and Breakfast justice!

As we walked in the door, it was like opening a present at Christmas with many boxes placed inside each other! Each room is decorated impeccably with period antiques and lovely linens/drapes. As we sank into the comfortable love seat and gazed around the family room, each piece of decor was a discovery.

As the sun sank on the horizon, the claw foot tub in the Master bath was delightful, and the fluffy towels and wash cloths soothed the skin. Slipping between fresh, soft sheets and feeling the soft breeze of the ceiling fan caused me to fall into a deep, comfortable sleep.

Breakfast the next morning at the Koffee Kup, another Central Texas landmark, was another delicious surprise! The original recipe pancakes were amazing, and the Scambled Eggs Special was more than enough to quench the appetite. The service was outstanding, and our waitress was more than "friendly".

We plan to bring back our families to share this "magical" experience, and recommend this lovely, historic rock house to anyone in the Hico area. It is obvious that loving hands and hearts spent hours of "sweat equity" restoring this "slice of history" to it's former glory! We cannot wait to return and experience the tranquility of the Hico area again!

Charming house and charming community! A perfect get-away for my husband's birthday. We enjoyed going to the Koffee Kup for breakfast--very easy to do. Close enough to enjoy other attractions like Dinasaur Valley and the Creation Evidence Museum, as well as wineries. Be sure to get a tour of Wiseman House Chocolates. Take advantage of the grill outside (charcoal under kitchen sink--we didn't notice that until we'd already bought some) and they beauty outside. Can't wait to return with my mom and sisters.
