Great menu, good service and a great range of beers (and a good range of wines). Friendly staff, keenly priced.

Myself and four friends went for a late Sunday lunch. We all ordered the roast dinner which arrived inside large Yorkshire puddings which were overdone, one was black. The potatoes and carrots of which there were few were undercooked and quite hard and there was also a very small amount of red cabbage. There was plenty of beef.

The place itself had a good feel about it but the food let it down badly we won't be going back there again.

Don't forget this weekend if you want to take your children somewhere they can run up and down unfettered on wooden floors and be as noisy as possible this is just the place for you. The staff won't ask parents to control their children as for our experience one of the toddlers belonged to a member of staff.
So if you want a quiet Sunday drink with adult company (because lets face it that's what bars are for) try elsewhere! MacDonalds might be more peaceful!
Shame as some of the staff are really nice.

Nice little pub this, in a beautiful town. Good pint served, friendly staff and locals, good music playing too, nothing more could be asked of a pub.

Become a favourite start point for me and friends, always seem to have the Timothy Taylor's Boltmaker although occasionally try some of the other " pale" ales. Never tried the food but it does look great every time it's ordered and passes by us!!
Great traditional and local ales as well as European lagers. Dog friendly too so always a variety of people with their respective mutts but no issues caused by them so don't let that put you off if your not a dog lover, great local pub!
