“A Good Hampton Inn”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

This is a good place to stay if you need to be in the 290 or NW Houston area. Easy to get in & out of. VERY close to 290 so there is some road noise & it is not at all pleasant to sit by the pool because of the noise. The rooms, however, were quiet.
Hampton Inns always have top notch breakfasts and we particularly enjoyed the wine/beer evening. Great to have coffee/tea, etc. out 24/7 and the cookies are a nice, welcoming gesture.
The room was standard but very clean & had every amenity that we needed. The wireless internet worked well.
The staff was very nice, however, I found them to be preoccupied with their personal business at times which was not very professional in my opinion.
The room was quite reasonably priced but I have since noticed that the prices have gone up dramatically. This is a good $145/nt hotel but not $184/night! Would love to stay again but will try another Hampton a bit farther north on 290 at a better ratel.

The hotel was well kept with great staff. It is located near some great restaurants and shopping. The hotel was easy to find and get into. The surrounding neighborhood was quiet and appeared to be safe. We felt comfortable walking outside in the early evening.

This is a great place to stay. It was clean, comfortable, and had the best breakfast. Ms. Dee runs a well organized, clean breakfast. The food was excellent and had a good variety of choice for everyone.

The staff at this property are what made this such a great stay. The were pleasant, helpful and even put a mini fridge in the room when the cleaning staff noticed I had purchased beverages. The room was way quieter than I thought it would be and very clean. Overall it was a great stay.

This is a typical Hampton Inn located on the service road of a major highway, very much like those we’ve stayed at in the past. Since this is not a five-star luxury hotel, my rating is meant to compare this location to other Hampton Inns and their equivalent competitors. Price, for our stay, was the least expensive Hampton in the Houston area.

It’s a smaller three-floor location on limited real estate, so the view is of parking lots on either side. Only quibbles were some nearby road construction sounds during the morning, and as others have mentioned, curtains are single panel which makes you choose between an open view or darkness.

There’s a bar-b-que restaurant next door and many more eateries to choose from on the other side of the highway.

The young lady checking us in was the best representative of any business we’ve encountered in a long time. She thanked us for our loyalty program membership, offered directions and local information, and supplied us with bottled water. The room was typical Hampton and very clean. Air conditioning was effective and not terribly noisy. (I believe they will be updating rooms in the near future). The breakfast area had already been renovated and supplied a complete hot meal. The attendant conversed with everyone, brought extra food and beverages to the tables, and offered bottled water. Fruit was always available in the lobby. On check-out, a different receptionist was just as friendly as the first, and again offered bottled water for our trip.

We’d definitely stay here again.

I was traveling with a friend who actually works for Hampton Inn in Seattle, Washington. Because of her employment we were able to get an employee discount on our stay. She went through whatever process required to book the hotel at the employee rate and the day of our departure from Seattle we receive a call indicating that our reservation was going to be cancelled because they were unable to verify her employment. She gave them the correct phone number to verify employment (which they did) and we were told everything was fine. When we arrived and attempted to check in (at 11 pm at night), we were not able to check in immediately because of some issue with wording on the voucher (voucher said the hotel location code and not hotel address). We told front desk agent, Mardeth (or something like that) to call supervisor because we THOUGHT that since she had already confirmed employment she would just tell agent to check us in. However, when she called supervisor, Shaquisha, she told agent to call Rosa/Rosie? However, Mardeth let us know that Rosa/Rosie had a lot of meetings in the morning and she didn't want to call her this late at night...so she would just check us in...(interesting, you don't want to inconvenience your manager, but you will inconvenience a guest??? we'd already been there for at least 20 minutes). To cut story short, we asked that Rosie/Rosa or whoever was in charge get in touch with us about our reservation. We called several times to talk to manager and left messages. We sent email too. We never received any response. If they treat employees this way, I'd hate to see how they treat regular people. My suggestion: There is a Crown Plaza next door.

Professional and friendly staff all very helpful. Super clean hotel with luxury beds! Wouldn't stay anywhere else! Did not use perfume products (I'm allergic to them) some hotels don't clean and use perfume to cover odors. Breakfast was fresh and tasty as was the plentiful coffee and always present fruit bowl! Offered cold bottled water every time entered or left lobby. Love this place!
