It is not a big museum, but if you have the time go and visit. It can be seen in one afternoon. The tram will drop you in front of it from downtown.

This attraction in Houston is just fantastic. We visited during the John Singer Sargent and The Age of Impressionism: Great French Paintings exhibits in April of this year. The parking is easily accessible, the galleries are beautifully set up, the museum shop is first rate. The holdings and displays are among the very best we have ever visited.

There are 3 great shows currently - Bract, Sargeant, and Impressionists. Chain cafe was very disappointing for the high admission price.

This exhibit was artfully presented. Sargent was prolific and the MFAH did a great job showcasing his watercolors. I had no idea how many watercolors he painted and was impressed with him, and the gallery.

This exhibit was like visiting the Musee de Orsay in Paris! If you enjoy the work of the Masters, be sure to see this showing, as it closes soon.

While you visit the MFAH, another exhibit is well worth your time: "John Singer Sargent: The Watercolors". A master of watercolors, especially his white on white strokes.

For photographers, "Made for Magazines"Iconic 20th Century Photographs" is worth your time as well. These images from Life magazine, among others, brings history to life.

Museum of Fine Arts Houston is a real treasure.
