“Fun and greenery admidst a jungle of concrete”
Reviewed 7 November 2013

Great and fun events are held at Discovery Green and they are, for the majority of them, free. Events are mostly family-oriented. Check out the event calendar online to plan your trip. Even if there are no events going on, there are playgrounds for the kids, both wet and jungle gym style. It would be a great picnic area once the trees grow and provide more shade. There are even runs for big and small dogs, and in between. Parking may be a little difficult - it is, after all. located in downtown and to be expected. Clean restrooms are available. There is a little library at Discovery Green, and a snack bar for light refreshments. A full service restaurant is also at the Green.

“Pretty park but not a must-visit”
Reviewed 6 November 2013 via mobile

We visited the park in early Nov. I think it would be more lively in the summer months or when it is decorated for the holidays. There are some nice botannical features and a small playground for kids. It is a clean park surrounded by hotels and the convention center.

“Wow! A Downtown park!”
Reviewed 26 October 2013

Never expected to find such a delightful park in the middle of the city. Happened upon the Korean Festival and then spent a pleasant hour watching the kayakers.

“Beautiful Walk & Local Fun”

Great walk--especially if staying downtown at a hotel. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, and nightly attractions. Free Yoga in the mornings, etc. Great place!

“Close to George Brown Convention Centre”
Reviewed 13 October 2013

The discovery green is a really nice and playful park in downtown Houston, offering sun and shade and some waterworks, on the doorstep of the huge George R brown convention centre. Really nice to have a stroll or even lunch during a conference break! Also easy to reach from some of the upscale downtown hotels, such as the Four Seasons, the Hilton Americas and the Embassy Suites which are all a stone throw away.
