We have been to Little Napoli’s a couple of times recently prior to going to shows at the Alley Theater. It is very convenient to go there prior to a show. Previous times have been pretty good experiences.

This time we ordered a Margarita pizza and Veal Picata with a bottle of wine that was at half price. The pizza was good with a nice crispy crust and plenty of cheese but could have used more basil. The wine was an excellent bargain...a Zinfandel I have had at other restaurants for $50+ on sale for $27. However, the Veal Picata was a real disappointment. The veal itself was rather flavorless...almost as if it had been boiled. There were no capers at all in the dish...even though they are mentioned in the menu description and are standard in Picata...and very little of the lemon tartness that a good Picata should display. It was served with overcooked pasta.

This was especially disappointing since we were hoping Litttle Napoli would become our “go-to” place for theater nights. :(

We met here before a show at Revention Center. Made reservations at 5:30 for a 7:00p.m. show. No hostess so the waitresses we were seating people in between serving people. Waited 10 minutes at hostess stand for someone to greet us. No manager in sight the entire night. No bussers, so the waitress had to do that too. Our waitress tried hard but she was just overwhelmed. Ordered 2 salads and the crab cake appetizer (as a meal) and it took 1 hour and 5 minutes. Ordered wine and got the order but there was never an opportunity to order another. They were completely and utterly understaffed. The salads were $18 and valued at about $10, the chicken on them was so hard and dried out, it was nasty. The crab cakes (2) were small and $14. They were cold. They always seem to be a little understaffed but never have I seen it in this condition (4th visit).

Seldom go downtown to eat but decided to do something different. Ordered lasagna which we very rarely order (maybe once in 5-6 years). Was excited because it was a treat to get lasagna again. It was $18 a serving. It was really bland and the meat lacked flavor. Just a real disappointment after going so long without eating it. We sat outside which was okay but the restaurant inside was really lacking atmosphere. Wish we had read reviews online for this restaurant before we dined there. Total bill was more than $50 for lasagna and tea. Could have gotten better lasagna close to home. Waitress was nice though.

We arrived early before going to a movie and sat outside. Service was terrible and the food was cold in the middle. The ladies restroom was out of order which made me wonder where the female employees went when they needed a break. We used to come me here more often but we haven’t been in a about 18 months or so. We will spend our money and time elsewhere on our next dinner before a movie downtown.

I began coming here because my son had discount coupons. We all liked it so much we came when we didn’t have coupons too! The lasagne is very fresh & flavorful. The wine list is also very good. They offer 1/2 price bottles on select days.
