We usually prefer hotels to B&Bs, but none of the Houston hotels near where we needed to be sounded hopeful so we expanded our search to B&Bs. We're very glad to have found LaMaison!
We stayed four nights here on a recent visit to Houston.
Our room, 201, was large, well equipped, neat and clean, everything we had hoped for from the positive reviews.
We liked the location which is convenient to the museum district and central to other far flung things we wanted to do.
No need for me to add more compliments about the hosts, other reviews have said it all. All employees were very pleasant and helpful.
Breakfast was interesting and different every day. Well prepared and tasty. I don't remember the order of days, but while we were there breakfast was:
Omelet with turkey sausage, peppers, onions [?], and cheese
Scrambled eggs and turkey sausage
Sweet potato waffle and bacon
Bacon cup with a filling of hash browns, eggs, and cheese
Juice and coffee were also offered.
When we checked in Sharon asked us about food allergies or other special dietary needs.
Our only complaint has nothing to do with LaMaison. We prefer walkable food and found the neighborhood choices too limited. The two we tried were good, not great and a bit too expensive. The best supper we had in Houston was when we drove to the closest Waffle House and had breakfast for supper.
Yes, we would happily stay at LaMaison again.
