“Great French food & great value”
Reviewed 30 August 2012

We tried Kris Bistro as part of Houston Restaurant Weeks - what a great surprise.Food is prepared & served by student at the LeNotre Culinary School & was excellent French fare. Definitely try the Charcuterie - the guy who made it is who served it to us. Wine list is good & with very low markup. Dicey neighborhood (I-45 at Crosstimbers) but parking is fenced. If you are fgeeling a bit adventurous, but love French food on a budget, this is your spot!

“WOW”
Reviewed 30 August 2012

We ate lunch at Kris yesterday. Wife had the short rib entree, I had the mussels. Both were excellent. We were served a cup of extraordinary soup and a small portion of salad gratis. Did I mention that the bread is fantastic? Hussein was a charming and knowledgeable maitre'd/wine maven! Rebecca was a great server. We'll be back very soon with the grandkids - all of whom love the kitchen. Here they can view two or three working/teaching kitchens. They will be entranced, as would anyone, really. This foodie central - and the prices are sooo reasonable. Oh, did I mention the wine list? It is not large, but very well chosen. Super values abound - bottle price plus $10...period!

“Definitely try the charcuterie!”
Reviewed 11 August 2012

Kris Bistro has become one of my favorite places to eat in Houston. In addition to the innovative food and friendly staff, they serve an excellent, reasonably priced charcuterie. If you go, make sure at least one person in your group orders it; you won't be disappointed. (See my earlier review for a more complete description of the restaurant.)

“An adventure in dining! I love this place!”
Reviewed 6 July 2012

This is one of THE places to go in Houston for a bit of adventuresome eating. They produce unusual dishes, The staff in the kitchen and on the floor are students at the Le Notre Cooking School, which gives them a bit of freedom to experiment. We found our waiter to be just excellent: knowledgeable, helpful, instructive and friendly. The food was excellently prepared and presented. My only regret - one which will be rectified when I go back - was that I didn't try the charcuterie plate!
