The ambiance was perfect for a romantic dinner. My boyfriend and I went for Houston Restaurant Weeks and we genuinely enjoyed our time there. We sat at the Chef's table facing the kitchen so we were entertained by all the action, and we even had enough elbow room to comfortably enjoy our dinner. Our favorite dishes were the escargot for appetizer, roasted pork filet mignon for the entre, and dessert was a tie; but I will say that you must like chocolate if you opt for the chocolate mousse. They also have a notable wine list. Service was exemplary and Executive Chef Jacques Fox was going from table to table making sure everything was great. Overall, we had a wonderful time. We would love to go again, even if just to enjoy a glass of wine.

We visited Artisans again for their Houston Restaurant Weeks menu. We had not visited in a while and were happy to see that it was just as good as previous visits. The amuse bouche was a spoon of flavorful heirloom tomatoes. Our escargot was tender—not tough or chewy—and bathed in garlicky butter goodness. I tried the Lobster thermador—not something I usually order this far from New England—it was nice. The tail was tender and the rich casserole was savory. This is a very rich dish so the portion sizes were just right. I enjoyed the profiterole for my course and loved the generous amount of dark chocolate sauce. The after was a pair of orange raspberry macaroons which were wonderfully fresh and not overly sweet. The wine selection is nice. We enjoy by the glass an Adami prosecco, Sancerre and Coates du Rhone all of which were excellent. Most importantly—sit at the Chef's table counter by the kitchen. It's a treat.

Artisan's is a great place with superb food and service. Sitting at the Chef's table which seats about 25 is the best seat in the house. You can observe all the Chef's and workers in the kitchen preparing the food. You have to try the Chef's 5 course dinner. He chooses his best dishes and you can even do a wine pairing with it. You get to visit with the guests on either side of you. The owner comes around and greets everyone personally. I will go back.

First, this was one of the few restaurants in the area that you can eat, talk, and hear without feeling like you are yelling at the other members in your party. Second, the food was fantastic - the Lamb, fillets (two different kinds). There were three in our party and we all had a different dish which was cooked to order perfectly. The appetizers, tuna and lamb respectively, were wonderful and the bread was served hot with room temperature butter. The deserts were well presented and delicious. The servers were quick to refill wine and water without being intrusive when doing so - rare quality. I thought the prices were in line for the type of restaurant. We even had a visit at the table from the owner - after two years he is still checking with the customers directly for feedback.

Supposedly one of the best restaurants in Houston. Good ambiance but very expensive for the food we had; nothing that you cannot find in any other luxury restaurant.
