We booked a 2-bedroom suite. Each bedroom had its own bathroom making it easy in the morning to get ready on time. There is a free wired internet access (in 1 of the bedroom) and unfortunately no wifi in the room but only in the lobby (where there is also 1 computer and 1 printer). The living room is huge with a fully equipped kitchen. The hotel is near the shopping area of Houston and if you take the tram to the museum district you will pass a supermarket called “Fiesta” where you can buy all you need to prepare your own meals. The hotel as an outdoor pool on the 3rd level – we did not try it but had a look and it seemed quite big. The breakfast is free but does not offer a wide variety of food. We also had 3 TV in our suite (1 in each bedroom + 1 in the living room) but no LCD. The staff is really helpful. If you want to see the Water Wall, take the bus 53 which is stopping not far from the hotel and get out at Hidalgo @ McCue stop (about 30 minutes from the hotel). It is quite far from the center of Houston but worth a visit. You can then go shopping into the Galleria Mall just opposite the water wall.

This hotel is centrally located in downtown houston. It is right next to houston pavilions, which has several eating options. There is no entrance to the tunnel from the hotel, but there is an entrance in the Macy's across the street. I don't normally stay in Residence Inn, but there is no Marriott or Renaissance downtown. I stayed here twice in two months, so it is not too bad. They have a free breakfast buffet in the mornings, and hor dourves with beer and wine 3 nights a week. There are two fitness centers (one in the RI and one in the adjoining courtyard) but even so they are a little small. The staff is friendly. I was slightly annoyed though one night when someone pulled the fire alarm and we had to go stand outside in the rain in the middle of the night for an hour. If I come back here, I will probably stay in one of the other nearby hotels that has a tunnel entrance so that I don't get accosted by homeless people on my way to work every morning (the Macy's doesn't open until 10am).

Came to Houston on business and was looking for a decent hotel at a good price. This definitely fit the bill. Great central location in Houston. The service has been very good and the rooms, similar to most Residence Inns, are a good size and a good value. They're nothing super fancy, but very comfortable.

We had rented 2 suites for a wedding weekend. Everything was fairly clean, however the linens on one of the beds smelled like they were not changed prior to us getting into the room. They had some weird smell- like someone else slept on them and they hadn't been washed. Other than that, our stay was pretty pleasant. We did manage to get the security guy to tell us to shut up after the bachelorette party but I guess that should have been expected.

The parking situation is pretty bad. Since it is in downtown there is no public parking and the valet charges 20 bucks a day with an option to get your car out without and get back without paying again.
