“The best Hilton I’ve Ever Stayed At—But Beware of the Business Center, and its employees, who do not understand a busine”
Reviewed 28 April 2012

The Hilton Houston Americas is an extraordinarty hotel. It is the best Hilton brand property I have ever stayed at. The hotel is giagantic and spacious. The rooms are modern and masculine. The bed was incredible. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. Prices are in keeping with a good hotel so this is not a bargain lovers dream, unless you come when a conference or sporting event is not in downtown Houston.

The pool is the best I have ever seen in any hotel, period. A real lap pool with a hot tub that actually fits the number of guests who might use it in a hotel of this size. The gym is amongst the best. The outside roof desk an incredible ammenity. And the in-house spa has reasonable prices, with a $10 day pass to use the steam roon, locker room, and sauna, an incredible value.

One sore point: the UPS branded business center charges exorbanent prices for incoming packages, is ineffenciently set up, and has staff members who are cheerful but who do not understand the needs of a buisiness traveler. I was called to say a package was ready for pick up only to be told that packages are stored in an off site area until the guest comes in to retrieve them. Shocked, I waited 20 minutes for my box to be brought up from somewhere I was told over and over again I was not allowed to go to if I wanted to get the box myself. When the box arrived the clerk said because of all of my questions she was charging me $25 instead of the usual $12. Shocked again, I had no choice but to pay the fee as the conference I was attending was starting in 10 minutes. I would have sent my packages to the convention center directly had I known that the system in the buisness center was so time consuming.

Aside from the business center, which I hope management fixes to be a fully functioning one where packages are actually stored on site for quick retrieval, this is a Hilton of distinction and worth staying at.

This hotel has it all. Quick and easy check in/out, spacious rooms, and plush surroundings. Our days were filled with intense conference meetings during our four day stay, but the staff took great care to make our stay comfortable and stress free. The quiet atmosphere was relaxing. The beds amazing. We had everything we needed to focus on our busy days. The free shuttle was prompt and their drivers very informative. Loved being close to many options for dining and entertainment. I will stay here again. The best of the best Hilton has to offer can be found here.

Room Tip: Higher floors have the best view of the city.

Stayed here two nights during a conference. They have a walkway that led to the meeting rooms in the Convention Center so it was quite convenient. There are several food options ranging from expensive to a little pricey, however, I must say the food was very good. Also, during my stay the hotel had a special dinner buffet that was very inexpensive but quite good. Check in/check out was quick, everyone was very friendly. My only problem was that there was a mistake with housekeeping and I didn't get my room cleaned until the 4th time I called down to the front desk which was around 4:00 pm. But the Housekeeping apologized for the mixup. The rooms were average Hilton but clean and comfortable and sound proof. The park adjacent had live music which also made the visit relaxing. The parking is about $25 valet plus tips and in room Internet is about $15.00 a day.

Room Tip: The breakfast buffet is worth every penny.

Gorgeous accommodations. Pleasant and professional staff. Huge fitness center with a plethora of machines & free weights. Only 2 blocks away from Phoenicia--the most incredible specialty food store (www.phoeniciafoods.com). Very quiet and comfortable beds.
Areas for improvement:
$14.95/day for internet access is steep, and it was sometimes intermittent
Can't change the time on the alarm clock (and it was wrong)

Finding a downtown hotel with a central location, close to everything is important for busy Houston visitors. This hotel fits the bill. Across the street from the Convention Center (tied to the hotel with a pedestrian bridge), and the Toyota Center (home of the Houston Rockets NBA team), six blocks from Minute Maid Park (home of the Houston Astros MLB team), and three blocks from restaurants and shopping, there is something for everyone to enjoy! Rooms are well appointed and beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are roomy and well lit. One nice touch was being greeted by hotel staff with a glass of fresh lemonade and iced tea. The only negative is the noisy lobby. The noise is due to the fact that the restaurant and bar are open to the lobby. We sat in chairs at the opposite end of the lobby and could still hear people laughing and talking in the bar area. Internet service was free in the lobby. Airline Boarding passes could be printed free in the business center.

Room Tip: If you are going to be conducting business in the connecting Convention Center, ask for a room on th...

We were truly disappointed with our stay at the Hilton Americas Hotel. We expected as a high-profile hotel in downtown Houston that the rooms would have been far nicer. We would have been really mad had we paid the normal price for this room (thank you, Groupon). The room was quite ordinary and the nicest part of the hotel was the walk out balcony (sunsets are beautiful here) and the ballrooms. If you are going for a luxury experience in downtown Houston, it is not to be had at the Hilton Americas.

I had gone on a long weekend to Houston for the Jaina Convention. All the activities were held at Hilton hotel from convention center, Daandiya Raas, attending different seminars, youth acitivites etc.

This hotel is very huge and a perfect place to host activities where a lot of people from North America are coming for the Jaina convention.

I was overall satisfied with the stay, food, prime location, amenities. My stay at hliton was very satisifying.
