Four of us stayed here for one night for a girl's get-a-way. We were in town for a show at the Toyota Center. This was the perfect location. We booked dinner at a restaurant right across the street (The Grove), so we were able to walk very quickly and easily between hotel, dinner and the the show.

We drove right up and were quickly greeted. Our bags were off loaded and taken inside without any delay. The entrance and lobby are very grand. This is a really big hotel because it's connected to the convention center. Unfortunately when we checked in our rooms weren't ready. We had requested adjoining rooms, and were told we could have two rooms right away if we were willing to take the non-adjoining rooms. We opted to wait. We killed time in the lobby bar that's great for people watching and relaxing with drinks. At 5pm we were told that ONE of our rooms was ready. We had 5:30 dinner plans so we all decided to get ready in one room. It wasn't a problem because we only needed to change clothes and freshen up a bit. Had we all needed to shower, etc., it would have been a problem.

We went to dinner and the show and returned to the hotel at 11:00pm and was told our second room was ready, however, it wasn't adjoining with our first room. It was actually two doors down. After all of that waiting you'd think we could have at least gotten two rooms together. The rooms were very clean, and spacious. Beds were comfy and bathrooms were clean as well. I never heard noise in the hallway and always felt like we had privacy.

There's a Starbuck's in the lobby which made us happy girls in the morning. The hotel restaurant has breakfast to order or an all you can eat breakfast bar for an additional charge. The breakfast bar has a lot of choices from fruit and yogurt to eggs, bacon and sausage. The bar also includes made to order waffles and omelets.

The valet was slow bringing our car around, but in all, I think all of the staff we encountered were all very helpful and pleasant.

This is a very nice hotel and definitely a great value for the price. We really enjoyed our stay. My only complaint would be their inability to give us the adjoining rooms that we'd requested. But I would definitely recommend this hotel and I'd stay here again.

Spent the weekend in Houston with the kids, and wanted a nice place to stay that was walking distance to the convention center. You can't get much closer that this (as it connects directly to the convention center). There were activities in Discovery Green (park) including family day - all free and right across the street. Parking in the garage, while costly, was convenient as we did a lot of in-and-out with trips to the museums and the zoo. The hotel itself was nice - clean, and beds oh so soft and comfortable. We had a problem with our room initially with a very strong perfume smell (from previous resident?) and we were quickly upgraded to a better view.

Pros: Nice property, connected to convention center, decent rates for a downtown hotel, great service, great views of Discovery Green. Got a nice reminder about DST and wake up calls. No noise from neighbors at all.

Cons: events in the parks may go "late" for getting kids to bed, which means you'll hear the music. We turned this into a pro, and went down to listen (keeping the kids up - hey, we're on vacation). Not a lot of food options for picky and cheap eaters. We ended up heading out. Parking at $20/night is pricey, but we knew this in advance.

Room Tip: Side facing Discovery Green have a good view.

Stay here to see theTrans-Siberian Orchestra at the Toyata Center. Front desk staff was pleasant and check-in was fast and simple. The room was clean and well appointed. The location is very convenient to travel around downtown Houston and it is within walking distance many restaurants. We stayed on the Executive floor and we had a wonderful view of the city.

Very nice hotel in Houston, beds were extremely comfortable. Hotel was clean and staff was pleasant, especially during the massive crowds (stay during NBA All-Star weeken 2013)
Optimal location for the Rockets arena (Toyota Center) or the convention center, both or less than a block away.
Room service was prompt (even with a full hotel), and the food was hot upon arrival and tasty.
Would recommend if your in Houston.

Room Tip: High floors have nice views of city

You read that right. $32.00 to park your car for one night. A total rip off. However, it does have a VERY nice exercise room. You can be on a treadmill and look at the skyline. Also, the lounge is decent and seemed to be open at all times.

Dear kuwells,

Thank you for your feedback. You are correct that valet parking is $32.00 per evening which includes the convenience of your vehicle being parked and retrieved for you as well as being properly secured by some of the best AAA four diamond trained professionals in the industry. This rate is competitive with other hotels in the area.

For a more economical option, self parking is always available.

Thank you for staying with us and we look forward to welcoming you back.

Hilton Americas offered the convenience of being attached to the Brown Convention Center as well as a free shuttle for its guests wanting to explore the "downtown " area restaurants. There was no free wi-fi, The Cafe was the only "restaurant " on the premises. They offered a breakfast buffet, as well as a dinner buffet for a few nights during the week. Both were adequate, nothing spectacular.
