When Hurricane Harvey hit Houston in August of 2017, we lost the entire first floor of our house from 51 inches of water. Thankfully we were sent to hotels by FEMA. Two months after Harvey we ended up at this Residence Inn on Barker Cypress. And it was truly a blessing. My wife and 2 children made this our home until September of 2018 (not entirely by FEMA incidentally, I had many points accumulated through my job).
The employees at this hotel went out off their way to make sure that everyone there that was displaced by Harvey had everything they needed, whether it was dinner several times a week or just a simple refresh on towels or sheets.
They took absolute delight in our 2 little boys and even celebrated their birthdays with us! I cannot thank them enough for their patience and compassion during what was a truly a very difficult time.
I wish I could remember all their names, but I know that Noor, Huda, Harriett and Marco at the front desk were always there for us; receiving boxes, making sure we stayed in the same room, and had every convenience available. The housekeeping staff were generous with their time and resources.
Even now, I can say to the boys, "want to go visit the hotel?"and its a resounding "YES!"
Much love and appreciation, the KennedysMore
