We decided to eat here for the March Madness game and there were not a lot of people in there. The beer was good although they had to get it from upstairs. The food left a lot to be desired. I had the Tamales, I think they were out of a can. The salsa was good on top of them but nothing else. My buddy had the Burrito and it was very disappointing. It was cut in half in a basket. No sauces or cheese on it. Somewhat dry.
I would only recommend it for the beer, salsa and chips. Maybe for some appetizers. For dinner go somewhere else.
the service was excellent, but did not make up for the food.

Thanks Berny

Not a good choice. Great seating on the upstairs outdoor deck, but the food was marginal. Only beer on tap is Bud LIght, but they were out of that. Margaritas were real heavy on mix, real light on tequila. Took until our fourth choice on food menu to find something they were not "out of" (and, when we came in there were maybe 2 or 3 tables there). Portions were exceptionally small; the $2.99 side of guacamole was what dressing comes in as "on the side" with a salad; the appetizer verion is $7.99, and maybe twice as big, but no chips come with it. Fish tacos would have been small by tapas measurement. Service was very friendly, but waiter said it was his 3rd day only. Not amazingly bad, but certainly not anything more than "almost mediocre".

Thank tewks

And great service to go along with it. This was our first time and Pepper Jack's (visiting from Chicago, we stumbled upon it en route to Saint Arnold's) and we were very pleased with the quality of the food and the service. From the minute we walked in the door we felt very welcomed - and throughout our brief visit. We ordered the Pepper Jack's burrito and the tortilla soup - both were really very good. I travel to Houston frequently and have mexican cuisine at many different restaurants, and this now ranks at the top of my list. Stop by if you are in the area or looking for something new to try.
