“Breakfast in style”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

My husband and I went to breakfast here on a Friday morning. The room is beautifully decorated and it was surprisingly quiet. I loved all the artwork and artifacts around the room. The food was good - not great, but pretty good. It was a lovely way to start our weekend

“Nice evening out!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

We are having a luncheon there in a couple months so we went to check it out. The furnishings are lovely and as an added touch they had live music a piano and base player. This added much to the experience!
The food was good. Everyone enjoyed thier selections.
The only downfall I felt was the wine prices were a bit high for what it was. (We tried at least 4 wine types previewing for our upcoming luncheon) It is very odd to me that the house wine was more expensive than some others...I think of house wine as 'good wine at a bargain price since they serve it alot'. Not so here.
It would be a nice romantic place for a couples evening!

“Terrible Wedding Reception! Read carefully before you choose Ouisies.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2014 via mobile

An all around bad experience. The event staff is inexperienced and unorganized. The waitservice is lackluster. There were so many disappointments working with Ouisies, I dont know where to start. The gentleman assigned to be the manager on duty during our reception was unkempt, unprofessional and impolite. This left us with no leadership on site to supervise our event. Passed appetizers were not paced well. Guests were left with dirty dishes uncleared on their tables for 40 mins. The cake was not served. When questioned, the manager said that our guests "took too long to sit down and that the main restaurant diningroom was busy". This explanation deteriorated into a yelling argument with the groom, in front of our guests. Our experiences during planning were also negative. The first cake tasting was dry, bland and mealy. The icing was oily. We left the cakes at the restaurant for management to review. The management agreed something was "off". We were given some story about difficulties with scaling the recipe for a tasting. Considering that Ouisies requires brides to use their wedding cakes, one would think they have the ability to bake for a tasting. We redid our tasting. Again, the cake was crumbling, bland and unpalatable. The icing was akin to crisco. Again, I was told the recipe was difficult to scale. I was told that Ouisies has done weddings & cakes for years and I should just "trust them", because it will be good on the day of the wedding when it is the proper size. Obviously, this was not acceptable or reassuring. I was left quarreling with the event staff and ultimately scrambling to find a bakery just 2 days before the wedding -- entirely unpleasent. To add insult to injury, the restaurant charged me $5.50 per person to serve this cake I was forced to bring in. Such a dissapointment!

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2014

The food is so good!!! I had the crab cake appetizer and the shrimp and grits entree and it was amazingly good!!!!! I also had a rich chocolate cake that was perfection!!! It's a beautiful place. It reminds me of being in New Orleans.

My wife and I go here about once a year for special occasions. We love it. Formal dining but relaxing atmosphere Feels like you are eating in a Southern Mansion from years ago. We love the dishes inspired by traditioanl southern comfort food. One of the best restaurants in Houston
