It's nearly impossible to find a truly fresh salad at any restaurant in Houston. And it's even harder to find a perfectly done steak. Fogo de Chao does both.
The salad bar has an amazing mix of greens and lettuces, delicious fresh tomatoes, tender asparagus, true Parmigiano Reggiano, aged Manchego, fresh Mozzerella, olives, onions, smoked salmon, salami, prosciutto, and plenty more. Plus a variety of top quality olive oils and balsamic vinegars. The salad bar is a meal in itself.
But then, when you flip your coaster to green, be prepared for meat. I mean plenty of meat. Lots of meat. All you can eat meat. And all of it perfectly cooked. I had sirloin, filet, rib eye, pork ribs, and lamb. Wow, it was delicious. I thought I was a master of the grill at my house. But this is even better.
They have a great wine list too. We had the Trinita Zinfandel, which was about $36. A good deal for a restaurant.
If you like to eat and drink, you'll spend $150 for a dinner for two. But it's worth it. You won't find a fresher salad bar, or better grilled meats in Houston.
